I have recently began researching this branch of the family also. I am descendeded from Paralee's daughter Lena. Lena married Holsey Willis circa 1905. I know that Paralee had two sons Aurthur and John. I put some of the info on ancestry.com. This is preliminary at best. I have to add the dates that I have found. Right now I am in school. I will finish the semester in a couple of weeks, then I willontinue my work on the tree. I will send you an invitation to view what I have info for viewing the tree will follow. Cheryl

OK folks the DNA roject is set up. Chisum ( and other C250 soundex
surnames) are invited to participate.
The S250-l is comparing genealogy among like sounding names in the 250
soundex (S, C, and Z) and the Dna tests will determine if there is
any commonality
Recommend the 25 Loci test over the 12, it is by far more exact in
determining close relationships. The tests are paid for by the
testee.
Visit Use the link below to join the S250 DNA project and order your
DNA test.

FOR YOUR INFO:
Sarah Kilpatrick was the wife of John Chisum III, whose parents were John Chisum and Ellender Gillentine (who were the parents of 21 children. Their son, John Chisum III who married Sarah Kilpatrick was born about 1732 in St. Margaret's Parish, Carolina Co., VA. He died after 1806 in the home of his brother, Elijah, at Sparta, White Co., TN. This John Chisum III flourished on frontiers of the cherokee "nations". Two Chisum Bibles and the public record of the Watauga Association plus those of Washington County, North, Carolina, provide us with the 'Paper Proof" for many of the incidents in his life.
The Kilpatrick family was a family of educators and well-known in Halifax Co., VA; in fact, highly regarded all over the southwest. Sarah Kilpatrick's husband was known as "Capt. Jon Chisum of Halifax". The known children of this union were:
1. Sarah Chisum (named for her mother). She married James Lloyd december 15, 1788 in Halifax Co., VA.
2. James Chisum (named for his uncle), married Johannah Phelps on July 7, 1796 in halifax Co., VA.
3. Elijah Chisum (there is strong support that Capt John had a son named elijah)_. He married Jemima Readin on January 15, 1806 in Halifax Co., VA
4. John Chisum, born Jan 20, 1779, died May 9, 1861. He married Sarah Greenwood January 12, 1806 in Halifax Co., Va. He was known as "Red Buck".

Source: Historical Southern Families Volume XXI and XVII by Genealogical Publishing Co., IN. Baltimore 1972. Edited by Mrs. John Bennett Boddie, P.O. Box 2775, Honolulu, HI 96805.
Up until the time I received these publications I thought that John Chisum who married Margaret Chisum and whose daughter was Anna Chisum who married John Walling was the son of John Chisum and Ellender Gillentine. Now the parents of the other John Chisum are presently not known.
However Anna Chisum thru her mother Margaret Chisum connects to the same common descendent, Richard Cheesome/Chisum but thru a different son of Richard Cheesome and his Margaret Isham.
I hope this answers your inquiry.
