O Lord my god , in thee I put my trust....... Psalm 7:1
Hello, I had a lady do a lookup for me in Christian county, Kentucky,
and she found Elisha Chisholm in 1799, along with a John Chisholm and
Lenam Chisholm. I also found where Elisha Chism married an Elizabeth
Walden in 1787, Lincoln county, Kentucky, she was the daughter of James
and Anne Walden of Madison county, Kentucky.
I am thinking this is Elisha Sr. Chisholm son of John and Elleanor
Gillentine Chism, he probably lost his wife sometime before 1799,
1799:
>Chisholm, Elisha:
>1 white male over 21
>0 white males 16-20
>0 blacks over 16
>0 total blacks
>1 horses
>200 acreage
>Also listed for 1799 John Chisholm (1, 0, 0, 0, 6 w/ 200 acres) and
>Ianam Chisholm (1, 0, 0 , 0, 2 w/ 200 acres).
I trace an Elisha Chism to Lawrence county, Arkansas, which was once
known as the New Madrid county in Missouri, it was a large part of
Missouri.
Elisha died in 1827, Lawrence county, I am thinking this Elisha is a son
of Elisha Sr. and Elizabeth Walden. Elisha died in 1827, leaving a will
naming his wife as Wenny and a son named Washington Childers.
Also Wenny migrated to Izard county, Ark. About 1829, She is listed as a
pioneer and maker of Arkansas, being over the age of seventy.
Also in the 1840 Izard county, Census there is a William Chisholm? Would
anyone have any Idea as to who he belonged to?
Also Benjamin Chism we think was a son of Elisha Jr. and Wenny Chisholm.
Benjamin Chism bought land in 1821 in Boone county, Mo. With a John
Snell, I am hoping someone may know about the Snell family how they are
connected?
Benjamin shows back up in Arkansas, 1824, Independence county, Ark. On
the tax list, he them migrated or the county line changed and he was in
Izard county, Ark.
Benjamin married a Polly? Born 1803, North Carolina, children were
Isham, Henderson, Thomas, Benjamin, William born 1827, Elizabeth, Wenny,
Washington, James and Elisha.
I am hoping someone can tell me who this John Chisholm was? There is a
John Chisham revolutionary war soldier in Kentucky who also received a
land grant? Does anyone know about the Snell family, how they come into
play with the Chisholm line? Thanks Vickie
