Hello folks!
I'm back home! And now to get settled and caught up on some things. Due
to changes and a buyout of my ISP, I am changing to another server.
My new email address is funyfarm(a)terraworld.net
My hit.net address is still active until I get everything changed over,
but if you need to contact me personally go ahead and use the new one. I
have to make a lot of changes in a lot of places, and hope I don't miss
some.
Thanks to all of you who have supported me in your thoughts and prayers.
Many blessings to you,
Deah
List Admin.
I cannot remember if I forwarded this or not. Oh boy, brain is in shut down.

Hello, I am working on my family line of Elisha Chisum son of JOhn and
Elleanor Chisum of Amelia county, Va. He was born about 1746, and later
traveled to Kentucky, Grainger county, Tn. and Lawrence county, Ark.
I find Elisha and an Elisha Jr. on the 1799 Grainger county, Tax list. along
with Elijah Chisum who married Lucy Clairborne.
Elisha's wife was Winniefred, she was also a member of the Spring Creek
Baptist church from 1803 to 1805, along with Elijah and his wife Lucy, all
were members utnil 1807, when Winnie was dismissed by letter, I am assuming
they were on the move. I pick Elisha and Wenny back up in Ark. They arrived
early in Ark. a little before 1820, Lawrence county, which was once a major
part of Mo.
Elisha died in 1827 and left a will naming Wenny as his wife and mentioned
one son named Washington. Also in Lawrence county was a Benjamin Chism born
1796, who married a Polly Walker? He migrated with Wenny to Independence
and later to Izard county, Ark.
Possible children of Elisha and Wenny are
Elisha
Benjamin who married Polly Walker? We are still working on this line
Elleanor Nellie Chism who married a John Adam Walker Jr. son of John Adam
Sr. and Elizabeth Hood.
George Washington Chism who was married to Elizabeth Caroline Burgess, Jane
? and Jane Knighten, two known children by Knighten, Elisha and
Christopher Green CHism.
Elizabeth Chism who married a Gray.
Russell Chism who was living with WEnny in 1860 , Randolph county, Ark.
Wenny Chism was listed in a book called the pioneers and makers of Ark. 1831
listed as being over the age of 70, she left Ark. sometime before 1840 and
went to Overton county, Tn. she was listed as a widow on the census in
Overton. But by 1860 she is back in Randolph county, Ark. listed as a widow
with a son named Russell.
Benjamin Chism who married Polly Walker, had children Thomas, James,
Washington, Elisha, William born 1827, Elizabeth, Wenny, Isham, Benjamin.
I am trying to find them from 1805 to 1820, I haven't a clue as to where
they moved? Does anyone out there have any information on this line? Thanks
Vickie
My apologies to you all. Things have been in an uproar on the home front
lately. We had a family reunion weekend before last that I had been working
on since last year. And the usual spring/early summer jobs outside were
keeping me busy.
To top it off, a week ago Sunday, a storm came through and blew our
mobile home off it's foundation. We have been having to stay in town ever
since. I am out here for a while today, and trying to catch up on mail. I
have one phone line back in service, and we have power again obviously. But
there is much work yet to be done.
They got the trailer moved back on the foundation evening before last,
and blocked and leveled yesterday. Today they anchored it back down.
I'm still not sure where this all will end up. We have requested the
adjustor come back out, as we keep finding more problems. The flooring has
pulled away from the floor joists, the roof dips and sways, and the front
door, frame and all, is out of kilter.
We're hoping to be able to move back in tomorrow, but still won't have
gas, water, or sewer lines. But
we are survivors and we can use a sump pump to get water if we need it.
There is still roof and siding repairs, and the central air was wiped out,
so it has to be replaced.
I had really thought that once I got through the reunion, things would
settle down and I could get back to being more busy with lists. Silly me!
:O)
So I do apologize for my silence, and hopefully now things will start
leveling back out.
