Subject: [SlaveAfriGeneas] the walkers, chisms, tutts again....Missouri & Virginia
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

Hello Everyone.....
I've been going through a pile of probate records and wills on the
Cooper County WALKER family from Pleasant Green in Bunceton or I guess
it is called Otterville, Missouri. I'm tracking the TUTTS (Henry Tutt &
Charles Tutt) that married into the family and it also looks like
MICHEAL CHISM is connected in same way as well as some others. (There
is also apparently a CHILTON and TUTT connection that I have been unable
to connect... papers of Charles Van Ravenswaay note that the families
are kin!)
I'm interested in the CHISMS cause I think they came from Morgan
County...
my enslaved ancestors were connected to Lot Howard & Elizabeth Chism...
but sorting out the Howards and CHISMS is driving me nuts.
Specifically, I've been tracking the TUTTS and WALKERS which are both
large families. Can anyone shed some light on the WALKERS from Pleasant
Green and how they connect to the Howard CO. Walkers..and can you help
me on the CHISMS too. I also have a brief chronology of the John
Hardeman Walker family but I don't know how to reach the authors nor do
I know the date of the historical profile that was written. But am very
interested in the slaves in these families....
I hav

Dan,
I have no knowledge of a Belew connected to the
Chism-Breed-Harlan family, but I will post your message to
KYMONROE to see if some of the family can connect William Belew
Chism to a Belew surname.
There are many variations of the Harlan surname in the family,
including Harlin, Harling, Harland and so on. The progenitor of
the Monroe Co., Ky., Harlans/Harlins were the brothers, Aaron,
b. 1685, and James, b. 1692; They were sons of George Harlan
(Harland) and Elizabeth Duck, according to Doug Moore's research.
Thanks,
Jemima
William Belew Chism, 1784-1867, was the son of James Chism and
Mary Howard. He married Priscilla Breed, daughter of Nathan
Breed and Mary Harlan, in 1805, and the couple had nine
children: John A., Robert K., Mary, Michael, William Gum, Jacob
Harlan, Sely (Celia) Jane, Nathan Breed, and James. He married
second, in 1853, Rachel Springer Rush, daughter of Ezekiel
Spring and Rebecca Collins, the widow of Benjamin Rush. He was
called Billy Blue.

to Gainesville, Florida. They had bought 681 acres of land in the area of
Newnans Lake. Can anyone help me with this brick wall. also Can anyone give
me some information on sea Island cotton. Thank you inadvance.

Hi,
Ancestry.com has a freebie right now. Gene Pool Individuals Records,
lots of great information here folks, better check it out. I found this
one by putting just the name Hardeman into the search engine. I came up
with over 1200 hits for that. This was a Chisholm that I found.
Hope she belongs to someone who may have been looking for her.
You will also find all of the Pankey children listed along with her,
with their spouses.
