Hi April
You should first go the the Scotlands People website:
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/welcome.aspx
Its a pay per view site, but you will be able to get exact copies of relevant documents. They have a marriage record for a John Chisholm to Georgina Shaw between 1855 and 1900, more than likely thats your one. This record may give further information such as ages, names, locations,to help you on your next phase. Keep looking on Scotland People or come to the Chisholm Genealogical Forum for more focussed assistance:
http://www.chisholmgenealogy.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl
I think with John's father being named Donald, this Chisholm family will be heading towards the Highlands.
The information you get from the marriage certificate should also allow the family to be tracked through the census records which will go back to 1841. From there its going to be pot luck into the Old Parish recors, or the Catholic records, or you might even strike a lucky dip by joining onto an already established and researched Chisholm Family Tree.

William Robinson Chisholm is also my Great Grandfather. I have been searching for his grave and can't find it. If you have any idea where it is, please reply to me at powell92(a)msn.com. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I did find his wife, Margie A. Ratcliff in Lone Cedar Cemetery in Louisiana. I have a pic of the grave if you want it. Thanks Connie

Hi I don't know if my Chisholms and yours are the same but I need help. My Annie Chisholm had a sister Christy who was born in 1841 I believe born 1840. My gggma Annie was born in 1858. They were from that area in Nova Scotia. I found the family living in Machester, NY in the 1880 census. The parents were Finley and Flora Steele (born in Prince Edward Island) Supposedly Annie died in childbirth which would be arround 1885. She was married to a Matthew Mahoney who was also from Nova Scotia (Pictou)

Hello, saw your post I too am related to Dick Chisholm killed in the feud. His brother Bradford, son of Richard Chisholm and Hardina Taylor was my great great great grandfather. Just thought it was fun to see another long lost relative! I have some info on the family as well but you may have more.
