Ricker93, thank you for the info. Is the St Andrews info public? If so, can you direct me? I believe that the Alex Chisholm that came over from Scotland in 1818 and died in 1822 was my 4th great grand father and must have had a son named Alex that was my 3rd great grand father who fathered Duncan. My uncle that started our family tree must have missed a generation.
Thanks again,
Steve

So Duncan was born in Canada. Do you know their religion or the names of Duncan's children? I have looked at census records for Canada and was only able to find one family headed by a Duncan & Catherine.

Turns out my albert Jessie Chism is a Robbins. Where were the Robbins family and how does he fit it. Did Elisha Chism or another Chism raise and Robbins child and gave him the Chism name.
Hi Steve. Do you know Duncan's religion? Was he born in Scotland? Do you know when Catherine died? Can you name their children? ~Anna

Hi all,
I have been researching my family tree and am stuck on my 3rd Great Grandfather Alex Chisholm and his son, my 2nd Great Grandfather Duncan. Alex and his wife Isabel came over to Black Avon (River) from Scotland in 1818. Alex died in 1822. They had 6 children (Anne, Catherine, Christina, Isabel, Mary and Duncan). Duncan is my second great grandfather, who married Catherine Chisholm. He died in 1896. I cannot pinpoint when Duncan was born. I have a few pieces of info that have him born in 1838, which would be impossible even for a Scotsman (I stole that from another Chisholm message board :-)). Duncan was known by Duncan "Big" Chisholm as he was large in stature. Does anyone have any info on this branch of the Chisholm family? Thanks... Steve

Dear Debbie
I believe your great grandmother, Elaine Sylvia Gibson, was married to Robert Walter Chisholm of Myrrhee Station near Wangarrrata in Victoria, Australia. My family information indicates he held the property until 1910. Myrrhee was originally acquired as a 96,000 acre run by William Pitt Faithful and part of it was later acquired by John William Chisholm of Wollogorang (near Goulburn in NSW). I do not know who Robert Walter Chisholm was and he is not in my family tree but I am trying to find out. I will post more information as it comes to light.
regards
Chisholm
