You may want to see if you can find a copy of "History of Inverness County Nova Scotia" by J.L.MacDougall. It provides information on each of the early pioneers of the Long Point settlement. Unfortunately it has no information regarding Janet MacIntosh.
John Ban married Anne Chisholm the sister of another pioneer, Alex Chisholm who was killed in 1802 by a falling tree. This Alexander was married to Helen Chisholm who would later obtain land grants for property in the Long Point area.John Ban was born in 1763 in Strathglass, Anne was from Knockfin.I have no specific info on his death. His last son Alex Og was born in 1808 and he had files for a land gant in 1820. I do beleive that he was buried in the Old Long Point Cemetery.

Thanks for confirming this - I had come across something online that made me realize it as well.
Catherine MacDONNELL was the d/o Duncan, brother to Farquhar MacDONNELL but I cannot find anything further on her or her parents.
Angus had 3 sons and they appear to all have been Gloucester Mass. fishermen.
According to her death record, Ellen CHISHOLM was the d/o Colin CHISHOLM Janet MacINTOSH -- any ideas?
Do you have much info on John Ban CHISHOLM? When he died? His spouse's name?
Thanks again!

I suspect that Angus Chisholm b ca 1806 in Juduque who married Catherine MacDonnell was the son of John Ban Chisholm,a pioneer settler of Long Point in 1802 with his brother Alex Ban. In 1820 he received a land grant of 340 acres that was known as Lot 40. His land was at the rear of land owned by Alexander Chisholm Sr. John was married to Anne Chisholm and they had 8 children,4 born in Strathglass and 4 born in NS. I have info on 4 of his children, but none related to Angus.

Hi Janet,
I am the great granddaughter of Marquis Chisholm. I recently found your e-mail again. I hope it hasn't changed. I have started back to researching this family and while I was living in Australia I made contact with other Chisholms living in Melbourne, Australia and in NZ.
You commented that you were transcribing letters by and to James that told about Pa. I sure would love to see them. I am of course willing to share any info I have on the family.
I live in High Point, North Carolina. Where do you live? I breed and show cats. I will be going to Pa. To a cat show in 2 weeks.
I hope this gets to you.
Cheers, CJ Keim

Ellen CHISHOLM was born either abt 1845 or 1853 depending which Census you look at.
She married Alexander CHISHOLM about Feb 1870 according to the birth of their son William Alexander CHISHOLM born Jun 17 1876 in Judique.
They also had a daughter Mary CHISHOLM born Dec 1874 in Judique.
By 1881 Census, Ellen was widowed and with her late husband's mother, Catherine CHISHOLM and her grown children Colin CHISHOLM [died 1908 in Massachusetts] and daughter Margaret.
According to Colin's death in Massachusetts in 1908, the late Alexander CHISHOLM's parents were Angus CHISHOLM born abt 1810 in NS and CAtherine MacDONNELL / MacDONALD born abt 1817 Scotland who died after 1881 Census in Judique or Long Point.
Alexander and Ellen CHISHOLM's son William Alexander married Mary MacDONALD sometime before 1911 Census in Judique area.
If anyone has any info at all on this family, I'd love to hear from you!!
