Get as much information as you can from your relatives and then start tracing back using the census. Starting in 1850 every family member was listed by name. Once you have done that, start doing a search here at Ancestery. You will probably have good results since there are only a few lines in SC which go back several generations. Good luck

Hello Peter,
Good to hear about your DNA test. I did one on my MALE
line, but it did not lead to any new connections.
Since you sent your message, I have spent an hour or two
every night and GOGGLED all the names but was not able to
add any more info, or find any links.
Did a big search of the possible WILLIAM CHISHOLMS
around the 1746 /- 20 years, but was unable to clearly
establish a link with all the many possible births/christening/marriages around this time in close by
localities.
I feel it will need a fortuitous bit of info establishing
a link for further progress to be made.
If I do find anuthing of interest, I'll get in touch.
Regards,
Les Pratt.

Hello W. L.,
Thanks you for that bit of news re: Emily and John Chisholm. I have to get my data out on the Chisholm line again - I have neglected it for some time now, doing research on related lines of my wife's family. We have not entirely ignord the Chisholms - we go by and visit Ben Frank and Enoch in Texas when we go to Dallas, and over to Red Buck's grave when we go to Florence, AL to visit. They are my wife's ancestral grandparents so we pay them homage when we can - by visitng them. Thanks again for the info, I do appreciate it, and that you took the time to send it to me. Ron
