Hello.
Duncan Charles Heigham CHISHOLM was b. Littlehampton, Sussex ca 1879.
He married Lucy Ethel Hall (b. ca 1884) in 1905. At that time he was
an officer in the Worcestershire Regiment.
They had 4 children all b. in the London/Home Counties area:
Joan Winifred Mary CHISHOLM b. 1906
Margaret Jean CHISHOLM b. 1912
Colin Alexander CHISHOLM b. 1914 - known to be dead by 1962
Alexander Duncan CHISHOLM b. 1918
In 1923 the family emigrated to Melbourne, Australia.
Duncan died in 1962 and Lucy 1976
I am interested to know if there anyone on the list who is researching
this family or who knows of any of Duncan and Lucy's descendants?
Many thanks, Angela

If you find the mysterious Mr Cheezum, and he doesn't believe you, ask him to check out the Chisholm DNA project, where 25 males have tested so far and we have about 12 different DNA profiles to check him against.

While conducting my research on the Chisholm/Chisum/Chisum.. familes in Texas, I came across one John Chisholm who was born in Scotland. If I remember correctly, this John was in Texas ca 1850 and was fairly old at the time. There is also an account of him in one of the Genealogy journals concerning Texas folks. Sorry but that is all I recall.

I found the following information in the Denton Journal Dec 17, 1898. The following is an extract from a sketch of Mr. DRD Cheezum a native of Caroline Co Maryland. It was 1740 during the lull of the hostilities between Queen Anne's War and King George's War that there came to this country from Scotland three brothers by the name of Chisholm, afterwards spelled by some branches of the family Cheezum. In the days of the reformation this family were Roman Catholics and ardent adherents of Mary Queen of Scots. Later generations were Baptist and such was the faith of the emigrants to this country. The brothers seprated after their arrival, one going west, one south, and the third whose name was William settled in Caroline Co MD from whom is decended Daniel Richard Denny Cheezum. Mr. Cheezum was born in 1826 2 1/2 miles from the Dover Bridge. His father Daniel Cheezum was a planter and during the war of 1812 served as a color-bearer in Gen. Benson's Regiment in St. Michael!
s.
Does anyone know any more about the three brothers or this family? The one may have moved south to Texas since in 1857 Daniel Cheezum went with his family to Auston Texas and was engaged in the wholesale crockery business, then he enlisted in the Confederate Army and served as a quarter master.
