Good Morning List,
I am looking for information on the African American Chisholms from the
Chester area. My great great grandfather was a slave belonging to The
Chisholme/Chisholm Family. My Great great grandfather name was Edward , His mother was
a slave by the name of Bridget and he had a sister by the name of Hannah ,
also two brothers Dudley and William Chisholm. I have no more information on
Hannna and Bridget other than they were owned by David Chisholm . I do know
that David Chisholme took Bridget to Chester, SC from Louisa , County, Virginia.
After the death of Suprey Chisholme in 1834, the were listed on his estate
sale. there were fiffty-one slaves, by 1855 my great great grandfather was in
Windsor , Florida that is located in Alachua County. I would like to know
who took them there and what plantation they worked on also I would like to
correspond with Chisholms from the Chester area , I hoping to find realatives
belonging to them.
Thank you,
Antoinette Anderson

Hi! This is not my line, but I found this while searching for my Chisholm's.
There is an Unknown Holmes who was married to an Elizabeth/Peggy Beamer. Their
daughter was Martha Holmes who was married to John D. Chisholm, SR who was
born in Scotland and died in Hot Springs, AR who was the Grandfather of Jesse
Chisholm of the Chisholm Trail. Have no source, but maybe this will give you a
place to start, anyway..:)

Hoping some one could help me, Elizabeth Chisholm b abt 1755 d bef 1840 in
Giles Co., TN Married to Henry Goodnight b Aug 1758 in VA. Maybe in Bedford Co.,
VA.
Is it that her dad was John Chisholm? Who was her mother?
Is Peggy Beamer/Beamor involved in this some where?
Really appreciate any helpful information on this, thanking you in advance.

nancy, thank you for prompt reply. i have everything on george chisholm from his naturalization forward. i know an approximate date of his arrival in this country. there is a strong indication that he was somehow connected to the greggs family, also of whitehaven, eng. something else i found interesting--the greggs, chisholms, and the harrisons all seemed to locate in the same area, ending up in stoneboro. i'll be very happy to share anything i have. merry xmas.carolyn chisholm hill p.s. george was my great grandfather.

Carolyn,
I think I have your Grandfather listed in my files(no connection yet...). According to what I have he was born on April 3, 1848 in England and died on September 20, 1903in Stoneboro, PA. I have Harriet Van Brocklin listed as his spouse. She was born on May 22, 1847 and died on June 8, 1901. I have 12 children listed for them(All born between 1869 and 1894...). Is this correct and do you happen to have George's lineage backwards?

I know nothing more than the information on the tombstone.
I went to my site, http://teafor2.com , clicked on the C in the alphabet with Mount Olivet Cemetery then scrolled down to CHISHOLM_Lee and the picture is still there. I have no idea how you might have missed it.
