Hi,
I am also a descendant of Murdock Chisholm. How do you descend from him? Our
line comes from his son, Malcolm. Then to Malcolm's son, John. Then to Daniel
Washington Chisholm, SR. Then to Daniel Washington Chisholm, JR. Then to
Daniel Hines Chisholm who was my grandfather. Would you like to swap family
information? :)
Nancy
Nancy,
What is your source for Malcolm and Murdock Chisholm ? Has Pauline Anthony
seen this ?
I think we have corresponded before. I descend from John through his son
Calvin.

To Linda Smith or Antoinette Russell. I am interested in how you got the older info. on the Murdock Chisholm and family. My grandmother was a Chisholm and I have traced her back as far as I can. I believe she came from Murdock's line. I would appreciate any help you can provide.
Hi. Just a comment. Do not discount the parentage just because the parents
were married after the birth of the child. That was a very common
occurence, even in 1804. Anna

I am doing family research on a family of Chisholm's who lived in the St. Andrews area. My great grandmother was Catherine Chisholm whose parents were William Chisholm and Catherine Chisholm(it is possible that this was not her maiden name) from St. Andrew's. William was referred to as William, the clerk in his daughter's obituary in the Casket. William and Catherine were known to have seven daughters and three sons. The names of some of their children were Catherine, Janet, Duncan, Colin and Ann.
Catherine Chisholm married Allan McKenzie, son of John McKenzie and Catherine MacEachern of Judique.
Catherine and Allan settled in Port Hood Mines and had three children, John, William and Teresa. Teresa was born in 1879.
If there is anyone doing researching on this Chisholm family from St Andrews, I would be interested in hearing from you.

Message Board Post:
Colin Chisholm, known as "Colin the rock", married Mary MacDonell and, according to published sources that I have seen, had three sons;
Alexander who went to Canada, Allan "Mor" and Duncan both of whom were evicted from Muckerach and were moved down to Kerrow. Duncan later joined his son, Alexander in Canada (1822).
I am working on a hypothesis that there were other children of Colin and Mary besides these three. I have seen it suggested that there was a sister, Ann, which would fit my hunch ... but only if there were others too!
Does anyone have detailed knowledge of this family?
Thanks
Alastair
