Hi All
My Chisholm's are/were located in Delaware County, New York. My earliest is Andrew born about 1776. I have all I can find below. As the majority of the population in New Kingston was from Scotland I am assuming Andrew came from there. I do not know how though. I haven't found him on any ships yet. My great grandmother is number 5 in the list, Margaret Chisholm, my grandmother was Anna Winter who married Andrew Russell.
Anyone who may have anymore on this family please contact me.

I am interested in the Chisholms who primarily lived in Albemarle County, Virginia, near Charlottesville. My Grandfather was Napoleon Bonaparte Chisholm and was known for his fiddle playing.
I have information on many connecting family names, i.e., Clark, Gains, Giannini, Gianniny, Humphrey, Mulino, Mullins, Pace, Rhodes, Robertson, and Yowell. The Pace line goes back all the way to the Jamestown Colony.

Dear List:
My elusive ancestor is my great grand uncle Henry F. Chisholm , he and his
wife Agnes were in Texas in 1902, I would appreciate if anyone who has access
to the 1900-1910 census if they would do a lookup for me. Thank you in
advance.

O Lord my God , in thee I put my trust....... Psalm 7:1
Hello.
I have a John Chism in my tree. He was born May 1843 either in ME or MA
and died 26 Feb 1913 in Calais (Washington), ME.
On his death certificate, his parents were listed as Archibald Chism and
Phoebe Morrisey.
I have a lot of information on John Chism and his wife, Jerusha Anne
King, and their family, but all I have on John's parents are their names.
Is anyone on the list researching these CHISMs?
Most of John and Jerusha's children changed their name to CHISHOLM.
TIA.

I don't often ask for "roll calls" on the list, but things have been a
little quiet, so this might be a good time to do just that.
Let's take time from now till the end of April, to post the "whos" and/or
"wheres" of those elusive ancestors that you're seeking information on.
You need not put "roll call" in the subject line, but rather the first
name, location, or some other bit, about who you are searching for
information on.
Best wishes,
Deah

I am looking for information on and ancestors for Alexander Chisholm who
lived in River John, Pictou Co., Nova Scotia.
Here's what I have. Born about 1811 possibly in East River, Nova
Scotia. Went to River John in 1835 with Angus Chisholm (his
brother?). They were both Church of Scotland.
Married Christy MacLean. Children: Simon (b. 1841, seaman), John (b.
1842, shoemaker), Thomas Hugh (b.1847, blacksmith), Margaret (b. 1847),
Jane (b. 1849), James (b. 1851, laborer), Roderick (b. 1853), Bill (b.
1855), Kenneth & Archibald (twins b. 1861), Mary Belle (b. 1864). Died 25
June 1885 and buried in the Presbyterian Churchyard in River John, Nova
Scotia. (I also have more information on the children and who their
spouses and children were.)
The occupations are from the 1871 Pictou Co. census.
I do have wife and children for Angus, too, though no information on
relationship with Alexander other than that Alexander and Angus were
mentioned together twice in "The Book, River John" by G. Lawson
Gordon. (Once as having come to River John together from East River and
once as having gone together to the minister of the Presbyterian church to
ask that a Church of Scotland service be held.)
[Note: Church of Scotland wasn't exactly the same as
Presbyterian. Presbyterians do not believe in drinking at all. Church of
Scotland believed in toasting guests to the home with whiskey--known as
"water of life" in Gaelic. I suspect other differences as well. Church of
Scotland was merged with the Presbyterian church, at least on this
continent.]
Any connections out there?
