Hi Michael,
I am originally from Pennsylvania. My Chisholm family (Thomas, Marquis,
James, and Frances) came to America from Renfrew, Scotland in 1875. I
have know idea where James or Frances located. Any connection?
Cheers, Carol Chisholm Keim

Subject: [CHISHOLM] Montgomery Co, NC >Monroe Co, AL
After a trip to Monroe County, Alabama and several visits to the
library I now believe that my Chisholms were from Montgomery
County, North Carolina.
Does anyone have any info on the Montgomery Co Chisholms?
They were founded by Murdock Chisholm from Scotland. For
the moment I'm mostly interested in finding out about his
descendants named Daniel. There were a couple of Daniels
in Montgomery Co., NC about the same time most likely
cousins and I'm not sure which one later moved to Monroe
County, Alabama.
Thank You
Michael

Hello, I had a lady do a lookup for me in Christian county, Kentucky,
and she found Elisha Chisholm in 1799, along with a John Chisholm and
Lenam Chisholm. I also found where Elisha Chism married an Elizabeth
Walden in 1787, Lincoln county, Kentucky, she was the daughter of James
and Anne Walden of Madison county, Kentucky. I am thinking this is
Elisha Sr. Chisholm son of John and Elleanor Gillentine Chism, he
probably lost his wife sometime before 1799,
1799:
>Chisholm, Elisha:
>1 white male over 21
>0 white males 16-20
>0 blacks over 16
>0 total blacks
>1 horses
>200 acreage
>Also listed for 1799 John Chisholm (1, 0, 0, 0, 6 w/ 200 acres) and
>Ianam Chisholm (1, 0, 0 , 0, 2 w/ 200 acres).
I trace an Elisha Chism to Lawrence county, Arkansas, which was once
known as the New Madrid county in Missouri, it was a large part of
Missouri. Elisha died in 1827, Lawrence county, I am thinking this
Elisha is a son of Elisha Sr. and Elizabeth Walden. Elisha died in 1827,
leaving a will naming his wife as Wenny and a son named Washington
Childers. Also Wenny migrated to Izard county, Ark. About 1829, She is
listed as a pioneer and maker of Arkansas, being over the age of
seventy. Also in the 1840 Izard county, Census there is a William
Chisholm? Would anyone have any Idea as to who he belonged to? Also
Benjamin Chism we think was a son of Elisha Jr. and Wenny Chisholm.
Benjamin Chism bought land in 1821 in Boone county, Mo. With a John
Snell, I am hoping someone may know about the Snell family how they are
connected? Benjamin shows back up in Arkansas, 1824, Independence
county, Ark. On the tax list, he them migrated or the county line
changed and he was in Izard county, Ark. Benjamin married a Polly? Born
1803, North Carolina, children were Isham, Henderson, Thomas, Benjamin,
William born 1827, Elizabeth, Wenny, Washington, James and Elisha. I am
hoping someone can tell me who this John Chisholm was? There is a John
Chisham revolutionary war soldier in Kentucky who also received a land
grant? Does anyone know about the Snell family, how they come into play
with the Chisholm line? Thanks Vickie
I cannot help with Hugh McDonald Chisholm, but I offer my family history
website to view my research on John D. Chisholm. It shows all of his
proven children, Ignatius et al.

Sonya,
Thanks for the info. I'd wondered why I was getting a ton of e-mails
from the chisholm site also. I knew I hadn't written anyone lately. My pc was
in for a total
upgrade, and I'd just gotten it back. Again, thanks.

Dear Friends,
In the last few days I have received several messages about undeliverable emails that I did not send in the first place. I called my ISP tech support and was told the most likely reason is a virus stealing my email address. Because I had just done an update and a scan on my computer that showed no viruses present, I was told that a virus can attach itself to addresses in forwarded messages that contain a sender's email address.
Apparently someone I have emailed recently has a virus in their computer that is using the addresses on incoming messages to send itself out. It could be that it is not in your computer, but in the message you forwarded with my address still showing in it and somebody you sent my message to has the virus and got my email from the forwarded message.
So, I am asking all of you to please either copy and paste a message you want to forward or at least erase all the email addresses before you forward anybody's message. Stupid people that have nothing better to do than cause untold damage and problems for others should not be allowed get away with this kind of vandalism. It can be stopped if you will be diligent in your actions to prevent being used like this.
Thank You,
Sonya
Does anyone happen to know who Hugh McDonald Chism belongs to? I have
been researching again , and I was looking in the New Madrid county, for
Elisha Chism, when I ran across a Hugh McDonald Chisholm.
I find Ignatious Chisholm and my Elisha Chism in the same county,
Lawrence county, Ark. which was once a part of Mo. called the New
Madrid, then I find this Hugh Chisolm in New Madrid, I also find
Dennis which was Ignatious's brother in Lawrence? Does anyone happen to
know if they are related ? I also found a Ignatious Chisholm in 1803,
Arkansas county, but it was in a Missouri book? Thanks Vickie
