Greetings,
I am trying to find information on the slaves that once belonged to David
Chisholme he was originally from Hanover, Virginia but moved into Chester,
South Carolina around 1809/1810. I have been told that there is a large
number of descendants of his slaves in the Mecklenburg area after the Civil
war. I would love to hear from anyone who might have knowledge of them. Also
is Blackstock a part of NC or does it belong to Chester?
Sincerely,
Antoinette Russell
Good afternoon List,
I am in search of Rev. Henry F. Chisholm (African American) , he was born
in Gainesville, Florida in 1856, His parents were Ned Chisholm, his death
certificate says that his mother name was Adeline. In the late 1800s Henry
lived in Jacksonville, Florida with his first wife Rosa. In 1901 he married
Agnes J. Robinson. Henry died in 1926 from a stroke at the age of 48yrs old,
he was buried on his family property in Newnans Lake. Before his death he
lived on Madison Street in Palatka, Florida, and worked at the paper mill. On
the death certificate list Ida McCray or Mccrae as the informant, she resided
in Miami, Florida.
any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi Cecilia,
thank you for your offer, the names that I am researching are the African
American Chisholme, any one with the surname will be helpful especially Ned
Chisholme he belonged to that church around 1870. He has the same name as my
great great grandfather and his mother was a slave of David Chisholme
originally from the Louisa County area, he moved to Fishing Creek in 1809/10
with his slaves which included my great great great-grandmother Bridget, I am
trying to connect the families. Again Thank you for your help and I will be
looking forward to hearing from you whenever you get the time.
Sincerely,
Antoinette J. Russell
I live in Va just aways from Louisa, I sent in my tree it was
titled "ok you win....etc" sent to me by my cousin but I have to go down
there to do some looking up of my own.
Send me some names and I will see what I can dig up. No hurry as I hope to
go in the fall when it cools off a bit.
Cecilia

Dear List:
I am trying to find information on the descendants of David Chisholme's
slaves. My great great great grandmother was named Bridget, she belonged to
David Chisholme grandson of Adam the Jacobite. David moved form Virginia
around 1809/10, he relocated his plantation to Fishing Creek in Chester,
South Carolina. Bridget's children were Hanna and Ned, Ned is my great great
grandfather and he was born around 1814 in Chester, South Carolina. I have
the names of fifty-two slaves that were on an estate sale in 1834 in Chester.
The slaves had been passed on to Thomas Chisholme after the death of David
and then to their cousin Suprey Chisholm. I found Ned in Gainesville, Florida
in 1867 he had bought 681 acres of land from a William Colclough . He bought
the land for 30,000 lbs of sea Island cotton. There is a Ned Chisholm in
Louisa County who belonged to the Little River Baptist Church in 1870 he is
also an African American.
If anyone have any information on this family, I would appreciate any
help. I would like to hear from Chisholm's black and white from the Halifax
and Louisa counties and Goochland areas. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Antoinette Russell
