Patricia, It's CAN-NS-ANTIGONISH-L-request(a)rootsweb.com (subscribe). Super
busy right now, but subscribe and let one of them explain Antigonish and
Chisholm's to you. In brief it's a county in which almost everyone is either
a Chisholm or a MacDonald. All Catholic.
Gotta Run, Hugh

Hugh,
If your Alexander was the son of Hugh Chisholm born around 1840 he could
be a cousin or brother cause my Alex was born around 1802. We need to find
Hugh & Alex's sibs.
I've heard about a Hugh Chisholm when my father-in-law was alive (died
1966) but can't remember what was said.
I can't go to the Lib. right know cause my car is not working (water pump
is out) & when it gets fixed I really need to find a job.
How do I join the Antigonish rootsweb.?
Guess I better go & look for a job.
Patricia

I have visited with Renee on this, and I believe she is truly driven by a desire of heart to make a difference. Therefore, as she has requested, I am going to forward her message on to the list.
She has been getting some really good responses to her thoughts from a number of people. I myself have wondered even about Vets that are buried in cemeteries that are being abandoned, or not cared for.
If you would like to know more about what is going on, please contact Renee, or myself if you wish. I support those who work from the heart.
Not everyone will agree or be responsive to this idea. That is fine. However I did see one response to Renee, that was nothing short of a verbal attack. If you disagree, that's ok, I don't mind. But, if you wish to launch an assault, don't. I don't think we'll have to worry about that here though, you all are such a great bunch of folks. I'm proud of you.

INTERNATIONAL CEMETERY MONTH (MAY)
Hello everyone. This project is not something that can be done over night
but I believe, with your help, can be done. Have you ever wanted to make a
difference? Here is your chance. First things first. Could everyone,
without making this look like chain mail, send this information out to the
other lists so we can see exactly how much interest there is out there.
Obviously just 2 people will not make much of a difference in this case. I
guess the best way to do things is to make a plan. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
1. Identify the people interested in helping beit Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts,
Aunt Shirley, whomever. When we get a list of names, and establish
parameters of the research (i.e. Areas that need work) then we can assign
certain people to be over those areas.
2. Once we have established the base players we can start the list of what
cemeteries need listing. For that we will have to ask the lists members for
their impute. Then any cemetery that we gain knowledge of we will need to
get directions for. The local Historical Society will be able to tell us if
they already have that cemetery researched. Also some cemeteries have grave
listings that are in personal hands. We need to locate those if possible.
3. When we get an idea of what we are doing we can set a date. I would like
May 2002.
4. After the cemetery has been recorded, possibly we could put a flag in
place to show that the work has already been done in case there is some
confusion.
5. Then comes the question of what to do with the information we acquire. My
suggestion is to get volunteers to data entry the information into individual
files, then give the information to the local county web sites and to
Rootsweb.com so everyone can have access.
Well, that's it in a nut shell. I know that I have always wanted to make a
difference. Maybe this is the way. Let me know what you think. If this
message has been passed to you on your site and you are interested in helping
please contact me directly.
