Hello, it's been a while since I posted last, but I am hopeing may be
someone who has joined the list may know of these family connections?
First I find Winnie Chism in Overton county, Tn. 1840, listed as a
widow.
Then I find her in Ark. 1827, where an Elisha Chisum had died in
intestate , Oct. 31.
bonded was a Winnie Chisum.
Then in Lawerence county, Ark. which once was a big part of Mo. I find
Winnie Chism and Benjamin Chism on the Ark. Tax list.
Then in 1834 a Mrs. Winniefred Chisolm was listed as one of nine people
in Izard county as a Pioneer and Maker of ARk.
Then in 1850 Benjamin Chism birthplace unknown born 1798, wife Polly
born 1803, North Carolina. Chidlren were Isham, Henderson, Washington,
Thomas, William born 1827, Elizabeth, Winnie, Benjamin, James and one
more think by the name of Elisha.
1850 Randolph county, Winnie Chism born 1784, age 86, born North
Carolina. with a son named Russell born Tn.
Then in Lawrence county, a George Washington Chism shows up , he was
married 3 times, first to Elizabeth Caroline Burgess, Nov. 1, 1833,
second to a Jane Lankford, 22 May, 1836, and then to a Jane Knighton.
30, May, 1840.
Lawrence county, Ark. at one time was a big part of Mo. I think this
family is connected to the White county, Tn. Chisums but I am stuck on
the Winnie Chisum?
Doe's anyone out there know of this Elisha Chisum and Winnie Chisum? I
think she may be the second wife of Elisha Chism .
then in 1860 Izard county, Ark.
There was William Chism born 1827, wife Mary, son named Thomas, this is
my line.
There also was an Elisha Chism , wife Mathela, and children Benjamin and
Polly.
Then a J. H. Chism, wife Mathela, children Benjamin, Jane and Henderson.
Anybody know of this line? Thanks Vickie
Good Morning all,
I am in search of information on the Chisholm family, my great great
grandfather was owned by David Chisholm Jr. of Chester , South Carolina. He
was in Windsor, Florida by 1855 according to the birth of his son Thomas. I
am trying to find information on descendants of this family. These are the
areas that I am searching: Alachua, Ocala, Tampa, Williston , Levy. Also I
would like to make contact with any serious researchers from the Chester,
County South Carolina. I do have a slave list that list fifty slaves that was
on an Estate sale of Suprey Chisholm Jr, in Chester 1834. also I am willing
to share what history that I have found. Thank you for your time.

My own Cherokee heritage back to Thomas Chisholm, 3rd Chief, among the
Western Cherokees "Old Settlers" in Arkansas and Oklahoma 30 years
before the Trail of Tears, is documented in a small book now published
on-line for those interested. I began "Our Chisholm Legacy" to link
my
relationship to the Cherokee people, but the end result is a
comprehensive
genealogical history of John D. Chisholm, father of Thomas Chisholm
and
grandfather of Jesse Chisholm. John D. Chisholm was a settler in the
Watauga
Association in eastern Tennessee, considered the first democratic and
independent American
government prior to the Declaration of Independence. The format is an
historical
chronology supported by an extensive bibliography.
This genealogical account challenges others on John (John D.) Chisholm
on the strength of
succession files discovered in Feliciano Parish, LA for Patsy Brown
Chisholm Brent and John R. Chisholm, and the "Memoirs of Narcissa
(Chisholm) Owen", a rare book. Supporting these sources are court
records from Knox Co, TN and letter excerpts from Indian Agent
correspondence to the Cherokee old settlers.
You are invited to access this book from my family web page which also
includes a self portrait of Narcissa Chisholm Owen, a copy from the
Oklahoma Historical Society:

Good Morning!
I am searching for African American Chisholme who were descendants of the
slaves that belonged to David Chisholme, Jr. of Chester, South Carolina. My
grandfather Ned Chisholme was owned and then passed to Suprey Chisholm after
the death of David Dir, he and his brothers were listed on the estate sale
for Suprey in 1834. I would like to know who bought them and how did they get
to Gainesville, Florida. They had bought 681 acres of land in the area of
Newnans Lake. Can anyone help me with this brick wall. also Can anyone give
me some information on sea Island cotton. Thank you inadvance.
