Dear Jeff,
I am personally grateful that you are "babysitting" the Chisham (Chism)
list, even though I have never made any headway with it! I have tried with
a variety of inquiries, hoping that people with extensive records might be
able to help me make contacts.
My great-grandfather was John Chism, and I have information on the marriage
of his parents. I have him listed in an 1850 Census from Kentucky, and I
also have some of his records as a Confederate Cavalry soldier with "Duke's
Cavalry."
In view of the fact that he had some five siblings, I was hoping that some
connections could be made. At one point a member of our university's Board
of Trustees told me his sister was tied in with a lot of Chishams, but she
did not seem to make any connection with my people.
I still have my hopes, so if you have any suggestions for contacts with
people who may be doing research within the 1850s and before, I would like
to at least present my records. My great-grant-grandfather was also a John
Chism who was married to a widow by the name of Julia I can send copies to
interested people. Thanks for your help!

Just a reminder, I am "babysitting" this list. If there are surname
linked members who would like to manage this list, please contact me.
This is your family list, and you should consider "keeping it in the
family" if you think it will benefit your genealogy research.
Thanks.
