Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I think I better go to bed before I get into more trouble! For those of you who know that you have Barricklow, DeHonney, or Cortelyou in your lines, there are now mailing lists, and GenConnect Boards for those names.........sigh. Need I say more???????
Since I know that these names tie in to at least one Chisham related line, I thought I'd just pass this bit of information on.
I also adopted a number of other lists and boards, but that's another story.....another sigh. :O)

Lovin it and you know it!
Well I finally got another page up late tonight. Well guess it's a whole new day now. I couldn't get online all evening to try to get it up to the site. Then when I finally did, I kept getting knocked off in the middle of uploading. I'm about cross eyed now.
Been having some problems with my computer, so may go shopping tomorrow. :O)
Anyway, I did get a page of family photos up, and a few bits and pieces of information here and there. Tomorrow is another day.

Here's something to chew on and toss around. If the dates are correct, then Julia's mother Lucy was only about 13 when she first married. Not an unknown occurance certainly. It has happened a number of times.
One of the family members was talking about a grandmother or someone who married at the age of 13. I'm gonna have to ask her about that again sometime.
And according to these dates, it was more than 10 years between marriages. But these dates would work.

Am working on getting stuff into my notebook again. I never seem to catch up. I am getting closer though!
I ran across an email that I had received from a Dick Crockett. He was answering a query I had sent to him.
The information within, states that in the Woodson County, Kansas marriages 1860-1985, there is an entry for Mary Adella Chisham, and William f. Findley. The date was January 25, 1899. William was 28, and Dell was 18.
This looks like another one to add to my "to do" list, and see if I can get a copy of the certificate. It's only about a 45 minute drive to Yates Center where county seat is.

Am forwarding this on, it tried to come through the list too, but bounced back.

Dear Jean: This is Patt in Florida. The glass looked like a champaigne glass. Not the flutes they use today. It had a slight pinkish tinge but wasn't pink. I may come across a picture of it sometime. If I do I'll post it. Patt<br clear=all><hr>Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : <a href="http://explorer.msn.com">http://explorer.msn.com</a><br></p>
Good evening all,
Today I added the full bio of Julia Chisham to her page. If any of you haven't had a chance to read her story, please do. It is a very insightful look into her life.
I also added a few more unidentified pictures. I'll be scanning more of those to start a second page of them this week.
I'm also trying to get data entered into my Family Tree Maker, so I can get something up on the pages that shows who's who and how. I may be hollering at some of you for some information. :O)
The Chisham pages can now be accessed through the resource page of the Chisham GenConnect Boards as well.
I also added a link to CA-GOLDRUSH "Most Wanted" page, as Thomas Chisham is listed as one of "the most wanted" there.
And I added an update note on the home page as to what was done today. Maybe it will help if I add notes there as things change.
Here's hoping you all had a great weekend!
Deah
Jean,
Hope you don't mind I forwarded this to the list. Maybe someone could help out with this. I'd like to hear how this turns out too. It may well have come from Napoleon.

I would like to have a description of that glass. I have one that my
grandmother had that is supposed to be over 100 yrs old. I don't know
anything else about it. It's probably not one of Napoleans but I'd like to
know.

I received notice that our link submission was received at Cyndi's List. It has already come out on "What's New At Cyndi's List", and I've gotten back a couple of responses from people who saw it and visited our pages.
If we're gonna start getting hits, I better get busy and get some more stuff up there!

Wow Patt! That is the first I had ever heard about it. You know it said in that book entry about Napoleon that he was a master craftsman with his hands. I missed out on a lot of things with Daddy's family when I was growing up. I wonder if some of the others have those pieces and maybe do or don't know what they are for sure. This is so interesting.
I am so sorry your piece was broken. I can understand how you feel.
BTW, it sure is good to hear from you!

Subject: Something about Napolean
Guess I have slow retroactive memory--I remembered yesterday that Napolean or his father Thomas was a skilled glass blower. Daddy was given a champaigne style glass when he was young. And, he said his grandfather Napolean was the glass blower. It was given to me when I married in 1963. However a few years ago my husband was putting a picture on the wall over the piano and dropped it on the glass and it smashed to smitherines. I felt I had lost a piece of my daddy. He told me each of the oldest of Napoleans grandchildren were given a piece of his work. Maybe someone else has one of these glasses. Patt
Thought I'd let you know I got another page up tonight. It has four photos of people I cannot identify. I'll be adding more, but this chicken is tired!
I also redid the other pages a bit, from what they first were. That includes adding an announcement regarding next years reunion on the home page.

nighty night folks :O)
Ok, all you Chisham folks. I have a request, :O) I have mentioned sending family recipes to the list, it's a little insight into what we like.
Also, I want to add a page for family recipes to the site. But I gotta get em, for I can put them there.... <BG>.
I'm still working on those first pages, and they're constantly changing. Guess it comes from the same thing that makes me re-arrange furniture a lot, ...chuckle.
Also if you have any photos that can be put up, please send them along. My head is spinning with ideas, and so many things I yet want to do with our pages. This will be an ongoing project forever, LOL.
Thanks gang,
Deah
No I didn't find Thomas's parents!!! <BG> BUT! I have FINALLY got through this nightmare of trying to get some web pages up. Hey ya all, we finally got a Chisham Family website! Leastways it's beginning.
There's not a lot up yet, and I still have tons to do. You wouldn't believe how many hours I've spent just muddling and stumbling along getting this far. Now that I finally have learned how, it should, I hope, go much better.
I was about ready to throw in the towel, and nearly in tears. But a wonderful lady by the name of Pat Asher got me through it, and helped me tremendously. I am so grateful to her. And so in consideration of her thoughtfulness and helpfulness, here is her website:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pasher/
Now....here's the url for the new Chisham Family site:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~chisdid/
Please let me know what you think, any suggestions, additions etc. I do plan on adding a guest book as soon as I figure out how...hehe.

If I had any sense, I'd be in bed asleep! But here I am digging again. I believe I've seen this before, but since the name Sarah came up, I'm taking a second look. See what you all think about this.

Was visiting with a sister on the phone this evening. She has some Chisham information she wants me to come look at.
She was saying that she has some information regarding Thomas and Julia. Said they were members of the Westfork Baptist Church when they were in Jackson county, Missouri, and also listed as a member was a Sarah Chisham.
She also has a copy of a will of James Chisham. I don't know if he is going to connect or not, but maybe there will be something there to help somebody, somehow.
She also said she has a letter from one of our aunts that is now deceased, and she had written that what she heard of the Chisham family was, that there was a Chisham who had nine sons that came to America. Hoooo boy! Can chalk that up to family rumor maybe, but who can tell? At this point, anything is possible. But one common factor is mention that, yes it was Chisholm, and at some point there was some kind of break, and some began spelling it Chisham.
Also, on Julia's side of the family going back to the Colcloughs. She had given me at one time information saying that Hester Colclough's parents were Major George Colclough and Elizabeth Thoroughgood. She says that is NOT correct. Hester's mother was Elizabeth Willoughby. Hey there's us a Willoughby connection! :O) And Elizabeth Willoughby's father was Thomas Willoughby.
I'll try to get down there and go through what she has and see if something good turns up. Will keep you all posted.

Hello gang,
I want to take a minute to thank you for your good behavior. :O) Due to recent events, many lists have had problems with politically oriented messages. This list is NOT the place to air politics, and I thank you all for not using the list in this way. Congrats to you all.
