I concur with the above message by LP Meissner. There is no evidence that Amos Chipman married to Sarah Daggett, married a second time. Other mistakes have been found in the book by Alberto Lee Chipman, although the book has much useful information. He gives no sources in the book and it is suspected he received much of the information from descendents, since he wrote the book in 1920. Can anyone verify the sources he used? Concerning Amos Chipman, marred to Sarah Daggett, neither of their burials, almost certainly in Sunderland, Vermont have been found. There is some speculation that an earlier graveyard in Sunderland was destroyed by a private owner. Any further information would be appreciated.

The Amos Chipman married to Abigail Boardman, 27 Apr 1773, was most likely the son of Amos Chipman and Sarah Daggett, who was born 21 Dec 1751 If there is evidence to the contrary, please respond.

Relating to Stephen Chipman, born 8 Apr 1778 in Sunderland, Vermont, he married Esther Waterhouse in Arlington, Vermont on 8 Apr 1798. He was in the 1800 census in Sunderland and was apparently in the 1810 census in Sunderland under the name of Luther. I have not found him after that, but his wife, Esther was in the 1820 census in Covington, Genesee, NY under the name, Easter Chipman. Would someone verify this information? He reportedly died in Chautauqua county, NY in 1868, but I cannot verify that. He, nor his wife, Esther appear in any census records up to 1860, although she is living with her son James W Chipman in that census.
