I have a copy of the following book for sale:
Chipman III, John Hale. (1970). "A Chipman Genealogy circa 1583 - 1969." Norwell. MA: Chipman Historics.
Book is in Near New condition. The only flaws are some small shelf wear on the bottom side of the pages at the front, the previous owner's name is written in blue ink at the top right of the end paper opposite the front board, and some tiny scuffing at the ends of the boards opposite the spine. Except for the name, the book could well have shipped this way.
Only 500 copies were printed. Of those 500, over the years there must have been some which were destroyed or ruined, and many which are in bad condition. So the total number of copies left will be less than 500, making this truly a collector's item. It's as close to new as one could expect for a 44 year old book.
Although "A Chipman Genealogy" is acknowledged to have problems, it covers many Chipmans not covered in previous genealogies and is the last general genealogy of the Chipman family. It is unlikely that there will be another.
