You are most welcome.
I have found the church record for Mary E. Chipman marrying William E. Roberts in the Pennsylvania, Church and Town Records, 1708-1985 collection on Ancestry. I've not yet been able to locate a marriage record for Mary Chipman to an Alexander.
Concerning John Chipman, b. 1728 the SAR application states:
John Chipman born June 30, 1728, died 1764 and Anna Mattocks born _____, died _____, married Nov. 9, 1752.
The SAR connection is through John Chipman, the son of John Chipman and Anna Mattocks, and husband of Elizabeth Hall. He was born 1755 and died 1843.
Additionally from the book, "John Howland of the Mayflower, Volume 3, The First Five Generations Documented Descendents Through his third child Hope Howland, Wife of John Chipman" by Elizabeth Pearson White and published October 2008 by Picton Press the following is given:
John Chipman, born in Barnstable, Mass., 30 Jun 1728 and was baptized in Barnstable West Parish Church 4 Aug 1728, the son of Samuel Chipman and his first wife Abiah Hinckley. John married Anna Mattocks in Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut on 9 Nov 1752. Their children (all baptized in Stratford Connecticut) are:
- Anna, baptized Dec 1754
- John, baptized Apr 1757
- Samuel, baptized Dec 1759, died in the Revolutionary War
- Joseph, baptized May 1761
- William, baptized Jul 1764
Unfortunately this book doesn't go any further into the descendant of this line.

Thanks Ken! I have seen Mary's DAR application. And was totally unaware of her marriage to William Edward Roberts I am actually searching for Mary (Chipman) Alexander and her husband Mr. Alexander and their children.
Also, is there more info about the DAR/SAR ancestor John Chipman b.1728?
I would have sent you a pm, but apparently you must have a paid subscription to send pm's here.

There is a Sons of the American Revolution Membership Application completed by William Chipman Roberts that is available on Ancestry that may provide some clues. In it he states:
He is the son of William Edward Roberts (b. 28 Oct 1884) and Mary Elizabeth Chipman (b. 31 Oct 1887) that married on 3 Jun 1911. It goes on to state that Mary Elizabeth Chipman is the daughter of Albert Chipman (b. 9 Dec 1863) and Elizabeth L Springer (b. 20 Nov 1863 d. 27 Mar 1904). This matches the information you provided in terms of her parents.
William C Roberts and family may be found in the 1920 US Federal census for Philadelphia Ward 35, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The information found on this census document matches that proved in the SAR application so this is most likely the correct family in the census.
Additionally, in the "Pennsylvania, Church and Town Records, 1708-1985" collection on Ancestry the baptism for Mary Elizabeth Chipman, daughter of Albert and Lizzie S Chipman, can be found with her born 31 Oct 1887 and baptized 29 Jan 1888 at Frankford Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Contact me via a message if you want to explore this further.
