I believe the father of Hezekiah C. Chipman was Hezekiah Chipman who moved from Guilford Co., NC to AL. He lived in TN briefly, and wound up in Kemper Co., MS where he died. He was married twice: to Elizabeth Lewis, and then to Dolly (maiden name unknown). So either Elizabeth Lewis or Dolly was the mother of Hezekiah C. Chipman. Take a look at the 1850 Kemper Co., MS census. The line connects to Paris Chipman of Guilford Co., NC, who had two sons (John and Paris), and from there to James and Mary (Minor) Chipman. James Chipman was a grandson of John and Hope (Howland) Chipman. It's a good line.

I still have the book. It's the last comprehensive genealogy of the Chipman family, published in 1970 by John Hale Chipman III, and deals with the descendants of John and Hope (Howland) Chipman through to the 1960s.
It is currently on offer on Ebay. Go to Ebay and type in "A Chipman Genealogy," and look for the book with the red spine. I'm taking offers on the book. I can't guarantee I'll accept your offer, but I'll consider all offers.

Do you still have the book, how much are you thinking for it, and is it from the Chipman/Howland line?
