Dear Colleen:
My husband and I just returned from Nova Scotia where we made a sentimental visit to the old home at chipman Corner just outside Kentville NS.
I have your note dated Nov. 10, 2008 given to me by Elsie Atkins Irvine whose mother was Della Chipman Atkins. Elsie traces her parentage to the 2nd marriage of William Henry Chipman who married Mary Dickey and fathered 9 children then married Eliza Ann Chipman and fathered ten more. My maternal grandmother was Annie Chipman Howe. Her father was John Ross who married Sara Elizabeth Starr. Annie's grandfather was William Henry Chipman. Our line as yours does goes back to Hope Howland who married John Chipman. I b ought last year Vol. 3, John Howland and the Mayflower by Eliz. Pearson White.
I have your note from Elsie. She no longer has a computer - her eyesight is quite poor. She hoped I coul,d follow this note up - and I'd love to talk to you further. I bought a couple of Chipman booiks b ut was never able to identify/find the John Hale Chipman III geneaology.
Do E-mail, me. I have some family history but I think you may have a more complete one and would love to know more.
Sincerely,
Jean MacDonald
