Gtreetings,
I attempting to verify if Olivia M. Chipman is the same as Malvina Chipman. I think they are but I can't find a record that ties them together. Here is what I've found so far:
1. In both the Chipman book by John Hale Chipman II and the Chipman book by Bert Lee Chipman there is an Olivia M. Chipman listed (b. 9 May 1806) as the daughter of Daniel Chipman and Sarah Bishop. In both entries there is a statement that Olivia M. married John Barnaby in 1829. Unfortunately both of these books don't provide specific sources for the facts provided.
2. In the Marriages table in the Church Records Kings County database file found on the CD available from the Kings County Nova Scotia Museum there is a transcribed record with John Barnaby marrying Malvinia Chipman on 17 Mar 1829. In this case there is no father or mother of the bride listed.
3. In the 1871 Canada Census there is a listing for a John Barnaby and his wife Melvina (b. ~1808).
Does anyone have any documentation that can link Olivia M. and Malvina (or Malvinia or Melvina) Chipman as one person?
Thanks in advance,
Ken
