Good Day Cousins,
If you have read the April issue of Family Tree Magazine you will have come
across a page devoted to a web site called Lost Cousins. At first look it
appears that it may become a useful tool in time and I have put some data
out there from my ancestors as listed in the 1881 census.
It will need a great deal of data to work well and at GBP10 per year it's
not too expensive. Please let us know what you think.

I have at last finished indexing the CHILVER(S) Births, Marriage & Deaths
from England & Wales 1837 - 2000 and have extracted the useful data from
the censuses 1901, 1891, 1881, 1871, 1861, 1851 and part of 1841 (waiting
for the rest to become available.
I have also got all the CHILVER(S) entries from the US censuses (I know that
the plural form is clumsy) up to 1930.
I have been giving some thought to the use of DNA testing in genealogy and
it does have some appeal. It could show the geographical roots as well as
revealing links amongst the Chilvers Clans. The cost is rather off putting
but some one-name study groups are having a go at it with interesting
results. Any thoughts on this one?
Just in case anyone fancies having a family history discussion I have
accounts with MSN Messenger and Skype. Free calls around the world but you
don't have to have a web cam. Speech without the camera uses less bandwidth
and thus is free of too much delay. GBP3.50 buys a good enough microphone
for the job. Broadband helps but is not essential.
I have relocated the CHILVERS CONNECTION web site (see below) as I got fed
up with Yahoo sticking their adverts and pop ups in the view.
I am still looking for interesting stories to place out there so please have
a think about it.
Best wishes to you all,
Richard.
