He died June 14, 1945. I can remember attending the funeral in Van Buren. He as my grandfather's (J.W. Chilton) brother.
I can remember about his staying in the sanitarium. His daughters were my mother's cousins, and they spent considerable time together.
All the Chilton brothers were quite intelligent and very successful. Anderson was a doctor, Oliver was a song-writer and owner and publisher of a newspaper in Caruthersville, Mo., and my grandfather was a lawyer, writer, and bank president. Their father Shadrach was a successful legislator and judge.

I am working on the family of these two, my gg-grandparents. A cousin is working on Alex's family, John's brother, and other of his siblings, children of Shadrach Chilton and Patsy Harvison. We should like to be in touch with any descendants of this branch of the family. Recently I came upon several tin-type photographs that I would date c 1879 that are members of John's family. I should like to get them identified, as would my cousin, Suzanne Chilton. -David Lawrence
