When you refer to the Virginia Genealogist, I assume you are referring to the articles by John Frederick Dorman. I may have some names of other people who have done research on the Chilton family. I hope thay are still alive. Please write to me at tchilton(a)telis.org for their names.

A brick wall for a lot of folks. I saw a couple clues last week that leads me to think one of them had a indian ancestor from the Choptank tribe of Delaware. A lot of Chiltons are Virginia, Delaware, Maryland. I think there may be a connection.
I will am trying to see if they lived in Baltimore,MD.
I would still also like to know how they got to Hawaii. I remember Grandpa Clive Chilton saying that some ancestor worked his way west before coming to Hawaii.

I have been researching my Father's family for over 20 years. I found out last year for certain that my paperwork trail to Chilton instead of Shelton was correct. I am currently trying to connect my records with anyone in the family. I am curious as we never knew this side of the family because my grandfather died very young. Here are the Names that I have concluded to through paperwork:
My grandfather George Connor Shelton Jr., George Connor Shelton Sr. m: Bessie Boundry, Zachariah Taylor (ZT) Shelton m: Francis Kayce, Stephen Chilton m:Julia Anne Gibson (2nd wife), Stephen Chilton,... can't prove anything paperwork wise past this and with only the VA Genealogist to guide me I am stuck.
If anyone has anything they could share with me, I would appreciate it. Thank you
Stacy Lanier
