Louisa was sister of Amanda Chilton MOTT (1827-1863), and aunt of my great Grandfather Leonard Bernard MOTT. My great grandparents Leonard and Elvorette HOLCOMB MOTT moved to Newport News, Virginia, about 1894-5, shortly after Louisa died. They had her coin silver tea spoons with her initials on them. I am wondering if Louisa left my great grandfather a substantial amount which allowed them to build a large home on four lots in the new city of Newport News. Does anyone have knowledge of Louisa's will? How difficult would it be for me to find such a will in Alburg?
Some of my Holcomb(e), Mott, and Chilton information comes from a bible that was in the hands of my grandmother, Lula Mott Fenton, and partially copied in 1937, by the Works Progress Administration (WPA). I don't have the bible, but the WPA information is available through the Library of Virginia (State Archives of Virginia).
Thanks.
Tom.

Loudye Chilton was my great uncle. His brother Arthur Chilton was my grandfather. I know a little bit about their father Charles Chilton of South Fork Ridge Casey County Kentucky.I'd be very happy to give you what information I have. By the way I have a picture of Loudye,Bannie and our great grandmother, Mary Susan which was taken in Metamora, IN.
