Hello Jem
Sorry, I don't have a record of Thomas in my resarch - all of my Chilton's were from Dudley.
I do have a Thomas W H Chilton in my records, born on 31 July 1893 in Dudley to John William Henry Chilton and Phoebe Danks.
If you have your Thomas's date of birth, do you have a copy of his birth certificate?
Do you have a copy of the marriage for Thomas and Alice? This should tell you the name of Thomas's father.
Accoding to West Midlands BMD - they married in Holy Trinity Church in Smethwick.
I have looked at the Census for 1901 and the only Thomas that fits is living with his brother Albert (born abt 1874 in Kingswinford)and wife Ellen Esther living in Birmingham, but I can't find Albert or his sister Florence in 1891. I have found an Albert in 1881 (born in Swinford abt 1874) with parents Thomas and Mary.
There is a marriage for Albert Chilton to Ellen E Miller in 1897 recorded in West Midlands BMD at Old Church Smethwick. It might be worth comparing the marriage details of Albert and Thomas - to see if they have the same father.
Do you have the family on any census returns?
I hope this helps - do let me know how you get on
Regards - Maggie

I have just started this seemingly endless task and have just started on my fathers side. (Chilton) All I know is my grand father was Thomas Chilton b 26/03/1893 married Alice Mann b 16/07/1892 on 23 dec 1916 in Harbourne. Ther seems to be two scools of thaught about Thomases Father. One he was another Thomas or he was a william. Have you come across any conections in your travels.
Thanks
Jem Chilton

Yes, Isabella is documented and she did marry Roger Chandler with four children, Samuel, Sarah, Mary, and Martha.
Copies of "Mayflower Familes Volume 2" can often be found at www.alibris.com
That's where I got my copy. They are also in most public libraries.

The information that I have for this family differs from yours. William
Chilton b. 1668 married Sarah Loe b. about 1679. They had three children
that I know of, John Chilton born abt 1694, William Chilton b. abt 1696, and
Mark Chilton.
Your William Chilton and Francis Maizey may have been the parents of the
Thomas, George, Wiliam, Stephen and Hannah born between 177 and 1740. You
said they were born to William and Sarah, did you mean William and Frances?
I also don't believe that William and Frances had a daughter born 1753
because they would have been nearing 60 years old, not impossible but highly
unlikely.a
I will do some further checking into my records to see what else I can find.
Ruth

I am looking for information on William Chilton [1500-1574] who married Jennett Unknown and their descendants.
I am descended from Mary Elizabeth Chilton [1753-1792] who married Captain Thomas Carter [1750-1810]and Mary Elizabeth's parents were William Chilton [1692-?] and Frances Maizey [?-?] and William's parents were Willian Chilton [1671-?] and Sarah Loe [1679-?]
I know that William and Sarah had the following children, because they married in 1698
Thomas Chilton [1722-1803]
George Chilton [1735-?]
William Chilton [1736-?]
Stephen Chilton [1738-?]
Hannah Chilton [1740-?]
most people have that these children were born in the early 1700 and I don't think that William and Sarah could have had these children, because William and Sarah would have been in their 40's
Sarah Chilton [1743-?]
