Am seeking information on brothers Charles W Chilton and George Edgar Chilton, both of whom registered for the WWI draft in Chandler, Maricopa County, Arizona. They appear in the 1920 census together also in Maricopa County along with Charles's wife "Allie" and three-year-old daughter "Ion." In 1930s, CW Chilton and wife "Alley" are living in Payson, Gila County, Arizona. With them are listed a "brother in law" John Herman and (perhaps--hard to read) "sister" Etta Yandel.
I believe that Charles William Chilton (born in 1894) and George Edgar Chilton (born in 1898) are the sons of Samuel High Chilton and his wife Maggie. They were born near Chickasaw, Oklahoma. Their father died in 1911 and their mother remarried. Samuel was my grandfather's older brother and we'd lost all contact with this family. Would love to know what happened to Charles W. and George and their families (Is George the George Chilton in Los Angles in the 1930 census married to "Ruby")? Have a good deal of information on our line that I would love to share with anyone tied to this family.

My Chilton line goes back as far as William B. Chilton born between 1813 and 1815 in TN. He married Nancy Soary born 1818 in TN. I am interested in going back further, and filling out their descendant line. I have a little information on their son Greenberry's family, and my own line through George Pittman, but nothing on the other children but their names. (John T., Rachel W., Trynla, Eliza J.)

Thanks for the reply. Do you have anything that ties William Edmonds to James Edmonds? That is my brick wall.

There's a link, but it's complicated: Mark Anthony Chilton (1786-1849) was the father of John James Chilton (1810-1881), who married Octavia Edmonds Blackwell (1808-1865), the daughter of Joseph Blackwell and Elizabeth Blackwell Edmonds. Octavia's sister, Elizabeth Miller Blackwell, married James Edmonds. There's rather a lot of first-cousin marriages in the Chilton and Blackwell clans...
