Marilyn & Tom Chilton,
Your message is over a month old, but was just going through my e-mails, and
decided to write you!
I am a descendant of John Chilton, born in Tn. abt. 1826. He came to Shannon Co.,
Mo. He married Sarah Sinclair, had about 10 children and Sarah died, at about 37 in 1871. My great grandfather was Alfred Lafayette Chilton, son of John. He was born in Shannon Co. 1855. John went to Phelps Co., Mo. and lived there, I suppose, until he
died in 1913. Alfred married Mary Ellen Boon(e) in St. James in 1885,
their daughter, my grandmother, Lula Chilton married James Totten, in 1910, my
Mother, Gladys Totten was born in 1911, myself, Rhonda Skelton (women's maiden
names) was born in 1934.
Do you think we are related to the same John Chilton?? I have researched some
on the Chiltons! I cannot find Alfred and Mary Ellen in the 1900 census!! If you
would happen to have that info. I would be grateful! !
I am mostly working on the 'Boones!'
Please E-mail me at bjharrhon(a)msn.com

My lineage is:
Thomas H. Chilton, Jr. (me)
Thomas H. Chilton
Holly Harlan Chilton
Thomas Rhoten Chilton
Aylette Hawes Chilton
George Chilton, Jr.
George Chilton, Sr.
The above are all proven with birth and/or death certificates, census
records, and probate records. John Dorman wrote a series of articles in
the Virginia Genealogist about the Chilton/Shelton families. According
to his information, the lineage continues as follows:
Thomas Chilton
William Chilton
William Chilton
John Chilton
John Chilton
I am still looking for a photo of Aylette Chilton. I will be happy to
pay for your copy costs.
Regards,
Tom Chilton

James Chilton, Mayflower Pilgrim, came with his wife one grown daughter who soon married. The Chilton name in America is not directly through this man. There are many Chiltons who came to colonies as early as the 1660s. Perhaps your connections are in these Chilton families.
Thanks for the posting on John Martin Chilton. I would like to know if his
father was Martin Chilton.and his DOB<

Hello List,
There appears to be a glitch in sending message board posts onto the
list. I just want to let everyone know that if you are interested in
seeing what's being posted to the board you will need to do so directly
from the board website.
http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/script/main/rw
If you haven't done so already you can have a daily recap of board posts
sent to you by email by clicking on ADD BOARD TO NOTIFICATIONS which is
available on every page of the message boards.
The problem was reported, but I have no idea when this will be corrected.
Sincerely,
Joan Asche

Oh my God! I had to of just looked right past it. I think that I was so focused on Chilton that I did not even see it. I will take off on that and find whatever I can. Once again I thank you. I will let you know what I find. I am home for lunch right now, so it will have to wait until later.
