RE: SHELTON/SKELTON/CHILTON/SHELDON/etc SURNAME DNA PROJECT
I want to update all of you on the results of the DNA testing project. I have three more
results, two still at the lab and one waiting for their kit to arrive. All those testing
so far are SHELTON'S, but some are in areas where there is confusion with some of the
other lines. These results indicate there were a lot more Shelton lines here than I,
anyway, imagined.

to show how many generations back you are related with a 12/12 match, an 11/12 match or a
10/12 match. The information shown above this chart may also answer some of your
questions.
If you are interested in being tested it is a cheek swab kit that is mailed to your home.
The price has been reduced since I started this project from $199 to $99. It is a
Y-chromosome test requiring the last name of the male to be tested to be Shelton, Skelton,
Chilton or Sheldon.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me as I will be happy to answer you.

In 1977 Charles L and Marjory Orchard published "The Chiltons - Their Ancestors and Decendants. This is a two volume history of the Chiltons of Shannon County, Missouri. This publication was sold within the descendants but perhaps could be found in a library. I do not believe it is still available but if you can locate a copy you will find it to be a valuable reference.
Happy ancestor hunting - Elaine
