I believe that Thomas Coot Chilton was my 4th great grandfather. Can anyone look in their info and find out. The place to look would be the 4th generation for a Edna Chilton who married a Glen Brown and had 4 kids, Sue, Kenneth(Peck), Glen Jr (Junior) and Bob. I'm just starting on my mom's side and no one around that knows anything. Feel free to e-mail me at crsby00(a)hotmail.com
Thanks,
Tracey

The Canadian government plans to permanently lock up or destroy
all census records made after 1901. Genealogists throughout Canada
and in many other countries have been fighting this plan. This
week genealogists received a major setback in their efforts.

My name is William Micheal Schmidt ( Chilton ). I was born I St. Louis MO in 1963. My fathers name is William ? Chilton, My mothers name at the time was JoAnne Webber. I have never seen are talked to my father. My mother will not help me in any way. William Chilton and JoAnne Webber were not married. I was given the Chilton name and was raised by my mother who married Thomas H. Schmidt and had my name changed to Schmidt in the 70's. I would really like to meet my father some day. My hope is that he would also like to meet me . All I know about William ? Chilton is that he lived in St. Louis MO in 1963, and that he was older than my mother. My mother was 16 years old in 1963. He tried to see me one time on christmas in 1969 or 70. My mother and step-father said no. I know that he was in the St. Louis area in the mid 1970's. I know that this is some what vague, but my hope is that some one has or knows something about William ? Chilton. If anyone has any info please repl!
y thank you.

I've never seen the connection of the John Chilton who immigrated to Virginia in the 1640s to Lyonell Chilton (father of James of Mayflower fame) but would love to see your documentation. Given the age difference, it's hard to imagine Lyonell and John being father and son. James Chilton (Mayflower passenger) was born about 1564 and the John Chilton of Virginia mentioned in the preceding posting supposedly was born about 1624.
The information I've seen has always shown the immigrant John Chilton to be one of the sons of the Second John of Maidstone and Catherine Heneage, five of whom immigrated to America. I think this was drawn from Shaw's Notes on Kent in 1660.
I always thought it would be interesting to connect the two families given that they were so close geographically in England but have never seen any good, sensible documentation on this.
