I assume that was Mr. Brame, Arden Jr. you mention. He is deceased.
The information by Brame Jr. II OAE , Arden H

Seems to conclude with this: the conlusions are that there is no proof that Walter Chiles of Charles City Co with the records found in Bristol, ENG
One time thought to have been the son of Walter Childs and Margaret Payne, which has been proven wrong. They had a son Walter who predeceased his father. ["Tidewater Virginia Families" and its sequel, by Virginia Lee Hutgcheson Davis 1989 & 1998 Genealogy Pub. Co.]
Walter Chiles 01 May 1572, Wrington Parish, Somerset Co. ENG [not this Walter Chiles]
Walter Chiles 1608, Saint Mary Redcliff Parish, Somerset Co., ENG [most probably another Walter Chiles]
He is not the son of John Chiles b. c 1607 Bristol Eng.From "Tidewater Virginia Families" and its sequel, by Virginia Lee Hutgcheson Davis 1989 & 1998 Genealogy Pub. Co.
And the two English pedigrees proposed by Brame were later proved incorrect.
Will gladly share what information I have on said Walter etc.

I must respectfully disagree with the position that there is no evidence of the ancestors of Walter Chiles. As mentioned in the post I'm replying to, there was erroneous information existing, but new information was available in 1990 and from two very well-respected sources:
1. See "A Complete Revision of the Ancestry of Walter Chiles (1608-1635) of Bristol, England and Jamestown, Virginia" by Arden H. Brame, Jr. in "The Augustan Society Omnibus Book 12" published in 1990. I obtained a reprint of this article from the Augustan Society.
2. See also "Tidewater Virginia Families: Generations Beyond" by Virginia Hutcheson Davis, published by the Genealogical Publishing Company in 1998.
Hope this helps,
Suzanne Chiles

Just remember much of the old published information has been proven to be incorrect for the Chiles family.
Walter Chiles (#1) has no proven parentage unless someone has proven parentage this year.[the sugested parentage has been proven to belong to another person] His wife is Elizabeth (with no proven parentage, all parentage suggested before this year has been proven to be another person]
They had William Chiles & Walter Chiles (#2) he married (it seems due the find of the Ambler MSS only once) Susannah (there is no proven parentage for her) she m. 2nd Rev. John Wadding.
They had Three Children:
John Chiles who married 1st Mary (NOT Boucher) they had three children: He m. 3nd Eleanor (no proof of surname probably not Webber)they had 6 (if Eleanor is a child then 7 Children)
Elizabeth Chiles m. Henry Tyler
Capt. Henry Chiles m. 1st Margaret (not Littlepage) & 2nd Mary (Unknown) she m. 2nd Mr Howle
Will gladly exchange information. I am a descendant of Walter & Elizabrth; Walter & Susannah (?) Chiles Wadding; John & 1st wife Mary (?) Chiles throught eldest dau. m. (prob William) Carr; and through John & 2nd wife Eleanor (?) Chiles Hickman; their dau. Susannah Chiles m. Col. Joseph Martin.
