ANYONE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING CHILES FAMILY REUNION SEND MESSAGE TO MY E-MAIL AND I WILL SEND REUNION PACKAGE.
Hello, wburdess -
There were apparently three (count 'em!) Richard Ballinger Chileses. Makes
things more difficult. There were also three Christopher Lillard Chileses
(one of whom was Richard's father). Those people just had to use the same
names over & over! Look at this page:
http://www.sneakers.pair.com/roots/
You can look from there to the surnames. This guy (the one running the
webpage) is occasionally not accurate, as he did not have RBC's fourth
child, Logan Wiley Chiles (my great-grandfather), listed - and did not
correct this when I wrote to him about it. He also had RBC's date of death
incorrect. However, you can get some info here, and maybe get a sense of
the family.
"My" RBC was a Lt. Col. and was married to Permelia Enyart. They lived in
the Pattonsburg, MO area and both died fairly young.
Do you think this is the correct line? I have posted before to this list,
trying to find out the fates of Logan Wiley Chiles's three sibs (all older
than he). Since Richard and Permelia both died young, LWC & his brother
were both said to have been raised by an aunt & uncle (although I have not
found out what happened to the brother), but the family still around for me
to ask doesn't remember anyone talking about the same uncle and aunt raising
the two sisters, although they think the girls were also raised in the
east-central Nebraska area. No one has responded to the queries stating
they were from any of their lines.
Do you know which of RBC's children you are descended from?
Sorry this reply is so late - I've kind of let my mail pile up the last few
weeks, and just now found your query. Please get in touch with me off-line
if you would like to. Or I can post some more info after Monday - sorry,
but I'm working all weekend, and Monday too.

I am trying to find out if the Nathan Chiles I am looking for is still living. I know very little about this person except that his name is on my birth certificate. This man is African-American and I am Anglo-American. I was born in 1960. My mother was married to Nathan for a time, but I'm not sure how long. I find two addresses that could be his, if he is still living. One is an Arkansas address and the other one is a Kansas address. Any info anyone could send me would be helpful.
thanks, Nanette White

Looking for information about great-grandfather Harry E. Chiles. Died in Webb City, MO in 1905. Married Emma Estella COOK 6 Oct 1900. They had at least 2 daughters Faye and Mable.
I've been to the cemetary, his tombstone only states his name and year he died.
Want to know birth place, date and if anyone else is researching this line.

Looking for my grandmother Mable Florence CHILES. She had 3 children with her common-law husband William Henry EMMETT who in died 22 Apr 1936 in Joplin. The children-Ida, Neomi and Betty Joe, were forcibly removed from the home and placed for adoption in the early 1930's. Death certificate is incomplete.
I'm interested in finding why the children where taken, and if anyone else is researching this branch.
