This ancestor born AL 18 July 1844. Married 1 March 1871 to Cynthia S. Alford. Appears Lee Co in 1870 census with children. Moved around 1885 to Cass Co., TX and remained there until death in 1913. Probably served 20th Battalion, Alabama Light Artillery, company B, in civil war. May have been wounded (one arm amputated, which family says was war inflicted).
Trying to make a connection with his family, which apparently resided in Lee Co (formally Russell) before the Civil War. Also, trying to confirm his marriage and wife's family connections.
Any information of this individual and his family will be most appreciated.
Regards,
Frank Jackson
Gina, Thankful Childs and Japhet Turner lived in Massachusetts, I beleive
in the Barnstable area. I was recently told that the Thankful that married
Japhet was of a different last name. I am at a loss as to what to think now.
Thankyou for responding:) Linda

Gina,
I have noticed several people replying back to your email concerning the
update listing check.
I was wondering if you were actually asking everyone to reply back or if you
were just checking to see what would be returned as bad addresses.
I was glad to see people respond my self.

Larry,
My aim was to see what email addresses bounced back. However, I am glad to
see that there are so many people out there who pay attention to the emails and
respond.
I didn't respond to the messages that said, yes, my email is ok or correct.
I didn't want to clutter up anyone mailboxes so I am saying,
"Thank you" and "Happy Hunting"
to everyone who has responded.

Anyone looking for any Childs names in the middle Ga. area I might be of some
help. I have knoledge of several families in Upson, Pike, Monroe, Macon and
Jones Counties in Georgia.
Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone on the list has researched Henry Childs Va. To
Ga.
Henry had a Son James Childs that seemed to just disappear. This line ended
up in Jones, Monroe, Elbert and other surrounding counties in Ga.
My Fourth Great grandfather James Childs was born about 1773 and died in
Wilkinson County Ga about 1816 winter or about March1818. He shows up in the paper
as deceased April ist or should I say his estate does.
I have not been able to connect him to anyone. I have hit the brick wall
anyone with any clues.
Larry Childs Jones County, GA.
