hi, ken. i am sorry but those names don't ring a bell. my childs, the first
known one was william childs, born in ct. around 1845/7 and his brother
edward childs, born around 1847/51, ct. they left ct. in 1879/80 and settle
in madison county, ga.
william married nancy shields there in madison county. their first born
son, jesse c. childs was my grandfather. he married my grandmother, della,
around 1899. i believe her name was della b. graham. no proof.
anyway, their children were, edgar william childs, born around 1800, alvin
robert childs born around 1802, my mother, wreatha lois childs, born around
1906, in pocotalego, madison county, ga. thelma childs born around 1910/11
and the baby of the family, my uncle walter estes childs born around 1911/12
in ga. who never married.
della was divorced from jesse and married a man by the name of i. g. seymore.
they all lived in anderson s. c. where grandma della moved after divocing my
grandfather jesse. a member of jesse's second family told me, granddad jesse
killed a man over my grandmother, della. i can find no proof of this.
jesse later married a widow, fannie , i believe stowe , in commerce, ga.
does any of this ring a bell with you? it has been very hard to trace this
family. my best to you. harriette fagan timmerman
Hi all,
I'm searching for any information about my great grandmother, Orlettie CHILDS,
also known as Lettie. She was born Apr 1861 in Missouri and died Jan 1942 in
Portland, Oregon. She married William KEITH around 1880 and had one child,
Charles David KEITH. Her father was from Pennsylvania and her mother from
Illinois. It is believed that her mother was full Cherokee.
Any clues or information that anyone may have seen regarding her would be
greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Kenny Quick
