There were 3 Childs on the Miller Cherokee Roll (Rejected). They were
George P., H.P., and Walter A. The first two were from OK, the last from
KS. I did not check the accepted roll. There is a new academic study of
the roll talking about how applicants were accepted, rejected,
description of the roll, results of emigration, etc. The table of
contents of the roll is at http://members.aol.com/rarebk
The site also has a number of Indian genealogical sources, such as the
1835 Cherokee census (posted on-line, inside a Cherokee Genealogy
Tutorial which is a great primer on how to do effective Indian genealogy
research), other indexes, and a Native American CD which appears to
contain huge amounts of Native American genealogical material. Very
fascinating.

I found the following reference a while back. I am just now trying to sort
and review some of the "raw data" I have collected. This appears to be an
erroneous family history.....
"I, Ellen Emmerich Mears, resident of Baltimore, Maryland; born May 3,1873;

>From a book listing the submitted genealogies of the Sons and Daughters of
the Pilgrims.
------------------------
Okay, starting from the last (earliest) ancestor she lists:
Richard Wells. I list his as possibly being married to a Frances White;
Mary Wells. I list her with 2 spouses: 1.) Thomas Stockett, married in
1645; 2.) Joseph George Yate, married in 1672. I list 5 children for Mary
and Thomas and none for Mary and Joseph. One of the children I list as an
Elizabeth Stockeet, born prior to her marriage to Yate.
Elizabeth STOCKETT. Married Thomas Plummer 1668. I list 5 children for
them - one is Elizabeth Plummer.
Elizabeth Plummer. Married William Ijams (II) 27 Aug. 1696. I list 9
children for them - one is Plummer Ijams.
Plummer Ijams. Married Ruth Childs 1738. I list them as having 5
children - one of them is Ann Ijams.
Ann Ijams. Married Samuel Drury, Sr. I list 10 children for them - one is
Henry Childs DRURY.
Henry Childs Drury. Mariied Mary Ann Owens 1823. They had 5 children - one
is Priscilla Drury.
Priscilla Drury. Married Joseph Shepherd 13 Feb 1851. I list 1 child, Mary
Elizabeth Shepherd and I list her spouse as George W. Emmerich.
What proof would Miss Mears have had to have submitted for this society.
Does anyone have additional info on children for Mary Wells and Joseph Yate?

I am researching the family of George Henry CHILDS born 1901 Birmingham.
His parents were George Morris CHILDS born 16th November 1874 died 11th April 1947 Canada, and Louise Edith (maiden surname unknown) born 9th May 1875 died 10th January 1950 Canada.
George Henry Childs had one sister that I know of, Daisy Constance Alice born 1912 died 18th June 1994 Canada. Given the age gap between George & Constance, there are probably more children to find.
If anyone is researching this particular family, or could undertake a lookup in the 1881 Census, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Many thanks
