Hi
Looking for the chidren of Silas Childs, b. 1746-7 in MA, m. Esther Ely
in 1766 at Becket, MA. Silas served in the Rev. War in 1775 and had
three kids there, two survived: Parnel and Lucretia (later Mrs. Samuel
Perry). Moved to Bennington VT by 1777, then moved on to Granville,
Washington Co. NY by 1780. Finally, moved to Ft. Ann, Washington Co. NY
in 1786 where he lived until his death in 1819.
It's believed that Silas was widowed before 1808, remarried, and had at
least one more child, Donal, in 1808. Donal moved to Crawford Co. PA in
1828.
Looking for the siblings and half-siblings of Parnel b. 1769, Lucretia
b. @1771, and Donal b. 1808. In 1810, there were several kids of all
ages living in Silas' household at Ft. Ann.
I have found two possibile other family members: Jonas and Silas, both
of whom served in the War of 1812 in Rowe's Reg. of NY.
It's believed that at least one and perhaps three other members of this
family moved to Crawford Co. PA by 1840.
Thanks for your help
Jan Garland
