My oldest known ancestor William R. Childress moved to Tunstall,
Pittsylvania county after the Civil War. He had lived in Charlotte county his whole
life up until he moved to Pittsylvania. I noticed another William Childress
who lived in that area as well. This William Childress was born around
1830 in Pittsylvania and married a woman named Cornelia Jane and I don't her
maiden name.
Not only did my oldest known ancestor move to Tunstall, Pittsylvania but
also his grandchild my gggrandfather moved there as well from Halifax county
50 years later. I can't imagine why my family would want to move to
Pittsyvania County without having family there. I also saw that both my line and
Joshua Childress' line was both Celtic.
I was wondering if this William Childress who married Cornelia Jane was an
ancestor of Joshua Childress, and if so does any body know of any
connection between this family and mine who lived in Charlotte.

I got your message from the childress@rootsweb list and I would like to put
this into the Childers/Childress Family Association Newsletter as a query.
A lot of our members do not have email and they still research the old
fashioned way. One of them might be able to answer your questions. Anyway,
nothing can be lost by putting it in the newsletter. If you want to join
our association then let me know. We print 4 newsletters a year and have an
annual meeting every fall. This year it is in St Louis on Oct 6-8. Let me
know if it is OK to print your query.
