Who was the John Childress mentioned in the will (proved in 1793) of
James Edmonston/Edmondson in Wilkes County, NC, as James
Edmonston/Edmondson's son-in-law? In May 1794, John Childress returned
the account of sales from the estate of the deceased James
Edmonston/Edmondson (Wilkes Co, NC Will Book I, p. 372, 391, and 392).
In early 1794, goods from the Edmondson inventory were sold by John
Childress to William Lenoir, per page 393 of Will Book I. (William
Lenoir was the largest land owner in Capt. Ferguson's District in 1787).
In 1787 Wilkes Co, NC Tax List, John Childress was in Capt. Ferguson's
District, and no land acreage was shown for John Childress. James
Edmondson/Edmunson and Robert Edmondson (oldest son of James Edmondson)
were also in Capt. Ferguson's District in 1787.
In the 1793 Wilkes Co, NC Tax List, John Childress was still in Capt.
Ferguson's District with no acreage.
On December 29, 1783, Sarah Childress married Elijah Vickas/Vickers in
Wilkes Co, NC. WHO were this Sarah Childress' parents?
WHAT HAPPENED TO the above JOHN CHILDRESS after he sold the inventory
from his father-in-law's estate in May 1794 in Wilkes Co, NC?????
