Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I learned today that Una Christina (Fox) Childress passed away Dec. 15.
She was the beloved mother of Dr. Joseph H. Childress, who himself is a
long time cherished friend and my cousin and early pioneer y we are so

CHILDRESS, MRS. UNA CHRISTINA FOX - age 88 of Dalton, GA, formerly of
LaFollette, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2007, in Dalton, GA. She
was born January 27, 1919 in LaFollette and was a long time member of
the First Baptist Church of LaFollette, owner of the Central Cafe, and a
manager for Howard Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Earl H. Childress; parents, Joseph W. and Eva Wilburn Fox; and siblings,
Beulah C. Archer, A. Lois McDonald and Joseph W. Fox, Jr. Survivors:
children, Dr. Joseph H. Childress and wife, Carolyn of Knoxville, Robert
E. Childress and wife, Belinda of Bristol, VA and M. Sharon Cooper and
husband, Dr. Larry of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Carla C. Wood and
husband, Mike, Christopher Childress and wife, Sherri, Keith Childress
and wife, Kwan, Kimberly Farnsworth and husband, Darren, Kendrea Todt
and husband, Tony, John W. Cooper and wife, Debra, and Joseph A. "JAC"
Cooper; great grandchildren, Dalton Wood, Makenna Childress, Anthony,
Callie, Andrew, and Cadie Todt, Keely and Kasey Childress, and Lindsay
and Ryan Cooper. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on
Wednesday at Walters Funeral Home Chapel and then proceed to Woodlawn
Cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Glen Petree officiating. In
lieu of flowers, a donation to the First Baptist Church of LaFollette
would be a tribute to her life. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is
honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Una Christina Fox Childress.
