Do you remember if the record of Agnes Childer's claim is in the Cherokee court 1842 records of claims or the Bradley Co. TN court records? Guess I should check Bradley Co. for this Isaac Childers land deed.
I do have record of Isaac Childress of McMinn Co. TN purchasing 40 acres of land in the Hiwassee District record 24 Jan 1829. What I don't have is a record of his direct sale or disposal of that land, except an assignment of interest in the land to Solomon Harden for value received and signed off by Dianah Fitzgearld (x). An Archibald Fitzgearld was witness 24 Jan 1836. I'm reasonably sure this land purchase and later assignment of interest relates to my Isaac who went to Marshall Co. AL, as there are a 3 Fitzgerald households who are neighbors on the 1830 census.

Going by memory, I do not think Agnes Sanders was a full-blood. She married Isaac Childers whom she reported resided in Bradley County, TN before the removal. She states she is the widow of Isaac Childers in the 1842 Claims in which she filed for an estate settlement. I have not found proof that the estate was ever settled. Also, the Isaac Childers who married Agnes Sanders was reported as being a bit older than the Isaac Childress in McMinn County, TN.

I'm also researching Isaac & Ahenoam Webb Childress of McMinn Co. TN and Marshall Co. AL. I have taken a look at the various Cherokee rolls and applications that I can find online and I found that a John Childers/Childress, born 1831/1833 "in the Cherokee Nation" and appearing on the Drennen Roll, the 1880 Cherokee Census, Dawes Roll, and an Eastern Cherokee application dated 8 Oct 1906, claimed his father was Isaac Childers and his mother was Aggie (Akie) Sanders Childers, full Cherokee, and born in GA. John Childers/Childress claims 1/2 blood and states his father, Isaac Childers was born in AL, white, and died before the 1851 roll. His mother, Aggie (Akey) was alive in 1851 and had remarried to a man named Creeson. John states he had 1 sister, whose name was Eliza Childers Choate. She was born abt 1842/1844 and is on the Drennen Roll as Liza Childers. John's file indicates she died in 1893.
As you can see, this information complicates our research into the 1835 Cherokee census of McMinn Co. TN. I'm not finding 2 different men named Isaac Childers/Childress. John does not indicate he was born in TN or specifically lived in TN before the removal, but he is nevertheless enrolled as a Cherokee, which our line is not. But, one problem in assuming the Isaac Childres of the 1835 Cherokee census is John's father is John claims to be 1/2 Cherokee whose mother was full blood. This does not fit the profile of the tallied Isaac Childres family.
