Message Board Post:
I am looking for information on my g-g-f Joseph Earl Childress, whose family lived in southeast Missouri and Mississippi County. In the 1940 Census, he is living with his mother Fannie Childress and brother L. A. (Lotis Andrew) Childress in Leachville, Arkansas. His sister is Ada Elizabeth Childress Gregg of Mississippi County. My last record of him is his World War II draft registration which also has him living in Leachville. A relative believes he may be buried (unmarked) in the old section of the Bassett Cemetery. My father grew up in an orphanage in Louisiana and did not know about his family. Having spent almost twenty years tracing my Childress family to this point, I would certainly appreciate any help or leads anyone has to offer. Thank you!
