Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks MaryJean for your comments:) I had been trying to reach the original
owner of the Childress message board a couple of weeks ago and my email to
her bounced. I notified rootsweb and they made the board available for
adoption so I requested, and received ownership of the board. At least now I
know the board will be open to free opinions for all, and no message will be
deleted by the owner of the message board if the message disagrees with the
owner's viewpoint.
Message board owners can't block people from posting messages BUT the owner
is able to delete messages, or move them to other boards if they don't agree
with the message. I felt that the board should be an open forum to all,
without bias.

Hello List -
Ref: Our list owner, Bob Sanders -
For those of you who don't know, our Childress Research-List owner, Bob
Sanders, is the new "CHILDRESS MESSAGE BOARD" (rootsweb) owner!
Congratulations and HOORAY to our list owner, Bob Sanders! I was elated and
very proud to hear of this Bob and look forward to also posting on this
rootsweb site!! I know you'll do a fantastic job for the "CHILDRESS MESSAGE
BOARD" as you have with our list. Bravo!
MaryJean
FYI
Starting today (Monday, 6/10) and extending over several days, RootsWeb is
going to be moving the list servers and other machines.
No messages sent are expected to be lost, but the lists will be down for a
while when it happens; please don't post "why aren't I getting mail" during
that time.....you will when it comes back up, and you don't want half of it
to be everyone on the list asking why aren't they getting mail. <g>
If you have trouble reaching other RW servers this week, it's probably for
the same reason; try again in an hour or two or three.....
Thanks!
Bob Sanders

The first thing that we found out was that the maid couldnt
cook, at least not the kind of food we liked. She made us oats
one morning and poured the water out of the oats, gave us the
water and threw away the oats. That is when my mom took over
the cooking.
