As shown here:
http://www.familytreedna.com/public/ChildersressJamesRiv/default.aspx?sec...
The living male Childers/Childress descendants of Pleasant Childers who have taken the Y chromosome DNA test via Family Tree DNA are a very reasonable "DNA match" to the others in the overall "James River Childers Viking Clan" (ALL of whom have the haplogroup of "I1"). Expanded DNA testing to 111 markers is being encouraged for the 60 living male DNA donors in this overall Childers/Childress family who have participated so far, and some better information as to "who is truly out of whom" in this overall family might eventually be obtained from that.
It appears that Mosby Childers married Elizabeth Jeffries, but I do not believe that a daughter named Elizabeth was mentioned in the Buckingham Co., VA Will of Nathaniel Jeffries (that Will was probated in 1795). So....perhaps Elizabeth was simply a niece or other close relative of that Nathaniel Jeffries. Pleasant Childers/Childress (parents???) apparently married Sarah Jeffries, an apparent daughter of the referenced Nathaniel Jeffries. Also, one of the MANY men in this overall Childers family named Abraham Childers/Childress (parents???) apparently married Lucy Jeffries, another apparent daughter of Nathaniel Jeffries (though she was apparently the same Lucy who was listed as Lucy Brown in another paragraph of that same Will....so had Lucy Jeffries also married a Mr. Brown)?
It now APPEARS that the Henry Childers who married Mary Farmer was a son of the older Henry Childers who married Lucretia Jones. This last/older Henry Childers was a son of Abraham Childers "II" and Elizabeth Anne Pew/Pugh (and Abraham Childers "II" was a son of Abraham Childers "I" and Jane Ann Howard). The above Henry Childers who married Mary Farmer was apparently the father of the later Henry Childers (born 1730-1735) who married Susannah Goolsby....and they had a son who was named Goolsby Childers. I have seen some claim, however, that an Abraham Childers also married a Miss Goolsby, but I do not know if that is correct. I have also seen where some have shown Pleasant Childers/Childress (who was in the Rev. War) as being a son of that same Abraham Childers and his "Goolsby wife." Perhaps all of that can be proven or refuted eventually.
We now believe that there were two "main branches" of this overall Childers family in Virginia, with one "branch" having been headed by the above-referenced Abraham Childers "I" (born circa-1622) who married Jane Ann Howard, and with the other "branch" having been headed by the Philemon Childers "I" (born circa-1630) who married Mary Evans. Most of the current living male 60 DNA donors in this overall Childers/Childress family, however, cannot "trace" their lines all the way back to one of the above two "patriarchs"....but it is the ultimate goal of the ongoing "James River Viking Clan Childers Project" to be able to connect each one of those donors to their proper ancestor in 1600s. Time will tell as to just how successful we are.

thanks for helping out :) Yes, I've seen the information and it could very well be my "LC" but I can't prove it YET :) I'm still searching for something to "connect the dots." I did find an LC Childers in California during the gold rush era..........still searching.
