DNA testing certainly suggests that Pleasant and Mosby Childers might have shared a common ancestor further back in time, but so far, there's no proof they were related as brothers, cousins, or anything else. I'm very reluctant to link Pleasant as a brother of Mosby considering that there were Childers/Childress families firmly established in Warren Co NC at the time Pleasant enlisted in the Rev. War there. It makes very little sense for him to have travelled so far from the Albemarle Co VA and Buckingham Co VA area where Mosby's family was from and where Mosby enlisted in the Virginia Militia, all the way down to Warren Co NC at age 16 to enlist in the NC Continental Line. I think Pleasant already lived in North Carolina with his own family who were already established there, who may or may not have been related to the VA Childers', and it may turn out to be just a weird coincidence that after the Rev. War, Pleasant found Mosby and befriended him, following him up to Buckin!
gham Co VA where they both married the Jeffries sisters.
When more men participate in the DNA study, we may finally start getting some real answers. The strange thing is that Pleasant is grouped in with several different sets of Childers' on the DNA comparisons, but mostly all are of Viking descent. NONE of the Pleasant Childers descendant DNA samples are a 100% match number for number for each other, nor for any of the other Albemarle Co VA and Buckingham Co VA Childers families. We need more spit guys!

Just noticed you mentioned research on the Hukill family. My great-grandmother was Lenora Hukill (Hukle) born 1879 in Clark Co KY. Siblings Nancy, William, Effie, Ruth, Myrtle, Nellie and Jessie. Parents were John P Hukill (born 1838, Clark KY) and Sara Melissa Wilson (born 1856). John's father was David Hukill who married Elizabeth Gordon.

No, I have documentation that proves Pleasant was the husband of Sarah. For instance, when she tried to get his pension.

I was recently in Okemeh Oklahoma at the Morris Cemetery and ran across a headstone for Truvelia Bertha Childers, Apr. 2, 1926, Mar. 28, 1969 and marked "SHE WAS LOVED". She is not related to me but I cannot find any information on the internet about her. I was wondering if anyone would like a picture of the headstone
