I have not seen it yet, but did check on Amazon.com and it is pretty expensive, around $150. I am going to check the local library first and then maybe try to find a used one. I will let you know if and when I locate a copy.
Also, saw on another message board that the Childress-Childers family association is going to hold an annual meeting in the fall in Morrow, GA at the Archives building. Do you belong to this association?
Also, I discovered a cousin that is researching my Grandmother's maiden name, Bradley, and has given me access to her tree, Bradley Family Tree.

Betty,
Thank you. My research is in agreement with all that you said. Jerry has provided the same information. Hopefully, there will be another researcher that has found Jacob's parents. Also, I am due to receive my DNA results around 30 Mar.
Have you researched in a document called "Adventures of Purse and Person" by John Frederick Dorman? I read that it provides a lot of family information about the families in early VA.
Ted

Ted,
I think that's because they were not his parents. If this Thomas Childers was born in 1695, he would have been 67 when Jacob was born, not impossible but improbable. I found a Temperance Connally who was born in 1798 and married Robert Uel Childress born 1799, no relation to us. He was born in Tennessee and moved to Madison County, Alabama where they are both buried. Some people have our Robert Childers listed as Robert Uel, but I think they are mistaken. Our Robert was born in 1798 in SC and moved to Pickens County, GA. Some people think Jacob's parents were Thomas Childers, 1736 and Lottie Brewer. This Thomas is too young, and never has there been a Jacob listed as his son. At any rate, I have talked to someone who has been researching the Childers line for over 20 years and hasn't found Jacob's parents yet.

Thanks for the help. You have the same information I do except I have a possible husband for Mattie: Oscar Abner Trousdale and they possibly moved to North Dakota.
Sorry about not telling you how I am related. I thought I did.
Fannie married James Drury. James' father Joseph Drury is a brother to my great great grandmother Sallie Drury.

I really don't have much info for you. I do know that George died on September 30, 1892. The source for that info is a book I found at the Mississippi Co. library in Charleston. It is called Mississippi Co., Missouri Loose Probate Papers, 1845-1899. It listed George's heirs as Martha Childers, wife, and five children, unnamed.
As far as Fannie's children are concerned, we probably have the same information. Here's what I have from census records:
Mattie L. Drury b. about 1906 in MO
James W. "Willie" Drury b. about 1908 in MO
Eliza Drury b. asbout 1909 in MO (I suppose that she died
young because I can't find her on the 1920 census)
I also have that Willie married Alleene Kennemore on October 20, 1928 in Mississippi Co., MO.
I'm still not sure I know how you're related to Fannie.
Is it the Crudups that you're related to?

Thank you for getting back to me. I found her death cert with your help. I would like some of the basic information on Fannie's parents and children. I have her mother Martha's information but haven't found a death date for her father George. I am also looking for the info on her children: Mattie, James Jr, and Eliza. Can you help with them? I have that James married Allene and I have her death date.

Hello,
Fanny Lee Childers died on October 21, 1934 in Charleston, Mississippi Co., MO. (Source: her death certificate on Missouri Digital Heritage website. Her name on the death certificate is Fanny Baldwin.)
She married Soloman/ Solomon "Sol" R. Baldwin on October 9, 1925 in East Prairie, Mississippi Co., MO. (Source: Missouri Marriages, 1805-2002 on Ancestry.com. Her name on the marriage license was Fanny Drury.)
I believe that James W. Drury married again. I have that he married Lizzy Goodman. (Source: her death certificate on Missouri Digital Heritage website. Her name on the cert. is Lizzy Drury.)
I hope that helps you a little. Are you doing research on the Childers family, or was Fannie the only one you are interested in?

I have a George Childers married to Martha Crudup (sp). They are the parents of Melia Bell, Fannie Lee, Thomas C, Sarah E and Elbert A. The lived in Anniston, Mississippi Co, Missouri. Fannie Lee married James W Drury. This is how she entered my family. I have been trying to research the Childers to find a death date for Fannie.
