searching for information on family and sibling of this union solomon childers 1825 showed up in union census 1860-1900 wife sarah sallie moss-children that i know of john henry mary ann and racheal childers
I'm looking for additional information about Samuel Childers, both
before he arrived in Buncombe County, NC, and also after he left
(assuming that he did).
Here is what I have:
For the 1810 and 1820 censuses, Samuel Childers resided in Buncombe
County, NC, along with with family members, enumerated in the censuses.
In 1807, he was deeded three different parcels of land. The first
was a grant from his father-in-law neighbor, Joseph Smith. (Which
Smith daughter married Samuel - Elizabeth? Susanna? Another?)
In 1813 and 1820, he sold all three parcels of land. To see the
deeds, go to my website at
http://www.childers-shepherd.org/ChildersSamuelLandTrans.html.
I believe, but cannot be certain, that one of his children was
my ancestor Humphrey Posey Childers.
I will much appreciate any leads from any source.
Thanks,
Dwight Childers

I have been working on my husbands family for quite awhile when they had DNA test done to our surprise, they match the Childers and not the Dovers. So do you know if any of the Dovers you had listed were kin to a Francis Dover or Thompson Dover. We connect with the Thomas Cameron Childress and Wiley Childers. Would love to hear from you.

Hello, I noticed you mentioned the name Pruit in your post and the name Mary ann. What do you know of Mary ann's family. I ask because, my ggg grandfather had a daughter named Maryanne. She married a Pendergrass. They had a daughter, Sarah, who marrried a Sidney Pruitt in 1872 in Marshall County Alabama and later went to Georgia. Does any of this sound familiar? My ggg grandfather was Elijah Childress.
I hope to hear from you,
Richard

Do you have any information on William Porter Childers/Childress born about 1846 in Giles County, Tenn. He married Sophornia McCasland in 1867 in Giles County.
Thank you for any help you can share with me about his parents or siblings.

Janice,
We were in Pulaski, TN, this past summer doing research on Jesse Childers who
was a minister/schollteacher. I may have some information on other Childers in
the area. I know there was a Robert B, Thomas, Joseph, and Vaulton
Childers(ress). I don't remember a John. :o( My info is at my mother's
house right now. I should see her at Thanksgiving.

There was a marriage in Franklin Co. MO on 13 Feb 1840 between JAMES ANDERSON and MAHALA CHILDERS. Could anyone identify which James Anderson and/or which Mahala Childers this was? I'm hoping he might turn out to be the brother of my ancestor. Any clue would be appreciated.
