I don't have very much so far. My Great-grandmother was Louisa or Lou
Childers - she was born around 1854 in the Carolina's. Her parents were John & Betti
Childers. When my Great-grandfather James died in an accident my Grandmother
Annie Lee Gibbs went to live with her Uncle Logan Childers. Since, my
Grandparents died before I was born I don't know why Louisa Childers didn't raise her
daughter. But, I spoke to someone this week who said the Childers line she was
in was part Cherokee Indian. And, the story I heard from an older cousin was
that she went back to live with the tribe. Any one else have any Cherokee
Indian in their Childers? Barb Channell

Has anyone tried getting information through the NC archives? They charge $20
for us out of staters. But, I'm drafting NC cousins into the search. I hope I
find some good stuff. Barb Channell
